Re: [MTC Global] [Policy Watch] Multibillion dollar project Aadhaar fell flat

,Sir,

It is agreed that anything new will have risks. Issue is whether project was launched after detailed study. It seems the government was in a hurry and implement the project without thorough examination.

There is no excuse for such lapses.

Every thing new will have risks. It is better to take risks and move forward.

I am reminded of John Kennedy who said:

'TO TRY AND FAIL IS UNDERSTANDABLE. TO FAIL TO TRY IS INEXCUSABLE.'

People in our country are always able to misuse facilities and take advantage of all schemes.

Having an identification is useful for many purposes. LET US CORRECT AND IMPROVE THE SYSTEM.

WISHING YOU A HAPPY GUDI PADWA FROM MAHARASHTRA AND HAPPY UGADI FROM KARNATAKA.

After a messed up three-year process and running through Rs 11,000 crore, the great discovery of a unique identity number for each Indian is practically dumped with the Supreme Court verdict that on Monday disallowed the government from sharing data with the CBI. Moreover, a sting operation by Cobrapost revealed that the process is riddled with holes with practically anybody, even illegal immigrants, can obtain a unique Indian ID by paying bribes.
