Gubernatorial Aspirant.
Dear All,
Please read the forwarded article below and see how unconscionable politics of largesse and embezzlement will forever dog black Africa.
I summarize below the benefits that will accrue to Governor Apkabio (Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria) when he retires from office in 2015 under a Bill recently adopted by the Akwa Ibom State legislature:
-Monthly domestic staff allowance - 5 million Naira (20000 pounds)
-Annual pension -26,7 million Naira (106000 pounds)
-Annual medical allowance - 100 million Naira (400000 pounds)
-Annual Housing Allowance - 6.7 million Naira (27000 pounds).
-Retirement Villa - 5-bedroom villa in Abuja or Akwa Ibom State.
-Severance pay - 6.7 million Naira - (27000 pounds)
-Furniture Allowance - (new furniture every four years)
-Annual Fuel/Car Maintenance - 6.7 million Naira (27000 pounds).
There is no doubt that Governor Apkabio has orchestrated the Akwa Ibom Legislature to adopt this "millionaire" retirement package for him in anticipation of his retirement in 2015 after his eight-year term. His annual pension in retirement will be equivalent to the annual salary of the British Prime Minister David Cameron (109, 000 pounds)!
While you denounce the excesses of Boko Haram, please appreciate that the unconscionable excesses of black African politicians are the root cause of the frustration and violence engulfing Nigeria and Cameroon.
How can a governor sleep well at night enjoying the above retirement package in a Nigeria where the average person survives on two dollars a day?
God Save Africa.
