I am sure she can add a lot of value in Primary Education
Personally I think that should be the Government’s focus and they should leave Higher Education to the private sector and let market forces and a discerning student population pick the winners !
Having said that it would surely be more appropriate for our great country to have a well educated person as HRD Minister !

First and foremost I would like to remind worthy members that we are again getting in to political comments and there are bound to be differing views.
Now I would like to differ with Dr. Tarun Das that Smriti Irani’s education is upto 12th standard hence does not deserve HRD Minister’s chair. It is no guarantee that a person with lots of degree will be a better person and person with less education will be poor performer. I have been a member of this forum since its inception and in all humility I would like to say that I also had the honor of heading the advisory board of MTC Global. I have also had the pleasure of earning appreciation of worthy members on my posts and comments many a times and I am only a matriculate.
Now my take on why a junior minister with no experience on this post. Because Prime Minister would like to deal with this subject himself as he has lots of ideas and he needed a person with two qualities – 1. that a huge amount of 60000 crores or more will not be misappropriated as has happened in the past and 2. That his ideas will be sincerely implemented.
Regards

If it is true that Smriti Irani has education only up to the 12th Standard, the third largest economy like India in terms of PPP adjusted GDP deserves a better HRD Minister. This act shows the mindset and the importance given to education by the Modi Government which probably wants to make India a country of lower class Babus.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI came here to get information about why this conference is called Sankalp, and how that distinguishes it from other MTC gatherings. I feel it is important to help you understand some fundamental errors in some of what is written here:
1) Bill Gates and Paul Allen did not start Netscape.
2) Bill Gates and Paul Allen started Microsoft, which was what destroyed Netscape.
3) Marc Andresson was the main person to know in regard to Netscape.
4) Bill Gates said in 1994, to the San Francisco Chronicle, that "The Internet is a Fad." He did not initially believe it was important.
5) 2 years later, Bill Gates felt the Internet was dangerous to Microsoft's domination of the computer market, and set in motion plans to kill Netscape, to prevent the loss of market control. This is well documented in the antitrust trial in the 1990's that the U.S. Justice Department brought against Microsoft over their monopolistic behavior, specifically in regard to the illegal and immoral activities they engaged in to make sure Netscape would be destroyed.
6) Neither Microsoft nor Netscape invented "www".
7) "www" was invented by Tim Berners-Lee (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Berners-Lee).
8) He invented the www on a Next machine (made by Steve Jobs's Next Computer Company), because it had a smart design and made dealing with networking possible. At that time, networking was barbaric on Microsoft's DOS and Windows 3.1, and most people had to use Novell Netware to get a functional network, which only allowed file sharing and email.
9) Bill Gates and Paul Allen did not even write or design Microsoft's first product, MS-DOS. They bought it from a tinkerer who made it as an experiment in his garage, but did not think it was good enough to be used by other people. Microsoft sold this to IBM for use in it's new IBM PC, saying that it was something they made. However, they were incapable of writing anything as involved as CP/M, which is what DOS actually was.
10) DOS was still running under all versions of Windows until 5 years ago, because Microsoft still did not understand how it worked enough to replace it.
