Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] Sex Education in School

"SEX" as a medium for procreation and sustenance of life is welcome. But "Sex Education"in schools where the students are below 16 is unwelcome.Even the so called western permissive society is a society in which social norms become increasingly liberal. "

***This usually accompanies a change in what is considered deviant. While typically preserving the rule "do not harm others" (harm principle/non-aggression principle), a permissive society would have few other moral or legal codes (no victimless crimes, for example). Aspects that have changed recently in modern permissive societies:
The most cited example is the social revolution and sexual revolution of the 1960s in Europe and America, giving rise to more liberal attitudes toward artistic freedom, homosexuality and drugs. Also commonly mentioned is the general loosening of Victorian values.

This morning I heard (TIMES NOW) people speaking in favour of sex education and condemning minister's blog as orthodox that takes Indian society back  to stone age.One lady even took umbrage under "kama sutra" by Vatsyayana-poor lady is not aware that Vatsyayana was a celibate !.One other went on to correlate high incidence of "rape"to lack of sex education. If only any body makes a statistical analysis,it would be a revelation that most of those perpetrators of heinous crime are illiterates, let alone sex educated .
Minister's blog recommending yoga and moral education will definitely teach restraint and wean the youth away from "äri shadwargas".
By the way who teaches animals sex, breast feeding,swimming....adinfinitam ?!And adolescent Indian any how knows what is sex, what is AIDS,what is condom and what is dating and procreation-then how can you educate those who know already?

Afterall,"To know that you don't know is a great step in knowledge! ----Benjamin Disraeli"

Subject: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] Sex Education in School

In his "vision" document for Delhi schools, Vardhan, Health Minister,  himself a doctor, has said, "So-called 'sex education' (should) to be banned."  He emphasizes the need to integrate value education with course content and put strong emphasis on exposing students to India's cultural relations.
