Duration : 3+ month
Interview will be phone or in person (based on candidate location).

Role:

The role will focus on the software development, enhancement, maintenance and support of applications in one of the client’s business areas.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

· Serve as the technical owner and developer of specific applications as part of a team that supports projects for new application development

· Serve as part of a team that owns the production support with a large and diverse portfolio of applications, some of which are business critical with high visibility that occasionally require support into off-hours

· Partner with our business engagement Technology teams to get the requirements and priorities of application support requests

· Operate in a matrixed organization as part of project teams for the design, development and rollout of new applications

· Build and maintain relationships with the technical and operational teams to improve operational effectiveness

· Maintain and apply current knowledge of information technology; keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and help determine if/how they can be used to add value to the business

· Act as a change agent: anticipate technology opportunities and propose solutions

· Participate in project and operational reviews, and help produce the necessary technical artifacts such as architecture diagrams, defect analysis documents, application performance metrics, etc. in support of the Film projects and existing applications

· Partner with client shared services teams to plan and manage technology standards, architecture and solution design principles

Qualifications / Requirements:

· B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar technical discipline

· 5-7 years of experience developing software solutions to address business needs, applying software disciplines, 3+ years as a senior developer

· 3-5 years of experience in application production support, and have a structured approach to troubleshooting issues and bug fixes

· Deep understanding of system architecture, integration, and software development processes along with experience designing and architecting applications in web, client-server and mobile environments

· Excellent experience reviewing functional requirements and design specifications to solidify technical feasibility together with detailed development estimates and work break-down structures

· Excellent experience developing and configuring applications per the technical design specifications, and working in a team environment where status updates are communicated to project managers and/or technical leads

· Experience in database design, stored procedure development and implementing standard data access layer framework using Oracle and SQLite.

· Experience in web development using the Ruby on Rails framework and its associated API stack and tools including Shell scripts, ActiveRecord, Git, HTML5, CSS3, jQEURY, Bootstrap, JSON, REST, Capybara, RSpec, and FOG.

· General overall understanding of database, network, storage, and virtualization infrastructure.

· General understanding of security technologies, processes, and concepts such as PKI, SSL, firewalls, authentication & authorization and Single Sign-On

· General experience using defect tracking tools

· General experience with change management processes for application and configuration deployments

· Excellent written and verbal communications

· Ability to demonstrate initiative, work on assigned development tasks independently and leverage team members and resources as necessary
