The PL/SQL Developer is responsible for the architecture, implementation and support of enterprise-wide databases. This individual works closely with application developers and project managers in creating functional and scalable applications from design and development through implementation for business clients. The Sr. PL/SQL Developer is responsible for ensuring database integrity as well as usability.
This position requires expert knowledge in database (Oracle) design, tuning, modeling methods in multiple computing environments (Unix, Linux, AIX) and must be well versed in Oracle PL/SQL programming.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and seek solutions to production issues as well as new projects. Work closely with applications developers in solving production issues.(45%)
Prepare short and long term plans to address infrastructure projects as well as support to and technical leadership for internally/externally sponsored company projects. (15%)
Recommend schedules for database upgrades; assist in the planning and implementation of major software upgrades; adhere to change management procedures and methodologies. (15%)
Ensure all database projects and processes are fully documented. (10%)
Perform in a distributed environment, the modifications and operations for Oracle database (10g DB, 10g AS, 10g CS & 10g DS), and Server (2000) environments. (10%)

Requirements:
7+ years experience in a technical function creating and maintaining software applications.
Excellent knowledge on Unix, Linux, AIX systems.
Extensive knowledge on PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus, and Unix Shell Script.
Proven ability in managing Oracle databases of 500+ GB in sizes
Must be well versed in data modeling and OLAP technology,
Significant experience with SQL*Loader, TOAD, and Korn Shell programming
Must have the ability to code complex PL/SQL packages, functions, and procedures
Solid communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) and strong interpersonal skills required
Ability to accurately set and adhere to deadlines
Must have a very high ability to learn new things, especially about new technology developments
Ability to prioritize projects and workload
High level of independent judgment
Must be flexible, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong project management skills
Healthcare HMO experience a plus.
Education:
BS Computer Science, MS preferred
Certification in Application/System Programming (Oracle Certified Professional, preferred)
