Job Description
As a Cloud Services DevOps and System Administrator, you will be expected to deliver all services in a consistent way and with predictable results meeting service level expectations. Your responsibility willinclude:
Work with datacenter operations on the design, build out, and ongoing support of Development/QA/Staging environment.
Infrastructure build out on Google Compute Engine or infrastructure in the Motorola data center
Troubleshooting problems in pre-production environments and working with Engineering and other teams to help resolve these issues
Troubleshoot ongoing problems, isolate down to the server, and fix hardware and or software Linux OS issue and or networking issue
Providing support to engineering team in setting up their development environment
Build out MySQL, Cassandra, Hadoop instances on GCE or bare bone
Building next generation monitoring, deployment, configuration and inventory management tools
Job Requirements
At least 5+ years of experience in software development as a Server Engineer.
Advanced level troubleshooting skills to resolve system/OS and networking issues
Excellent Redhat Linux knowledge and experience
Experience with in high-performance, high scalability distributed services.
Excellent understanding and troubleshooting skills on kickstart, dns, dhcp, remote console access, Linux kernel and networking
Excellent Scripting experience on Bash, Perl/Python/Ruby to help with automation of routine tasks
Good understanding of network protocols, especially TCP/IP and HTTP
Good understanding of database design and SQL.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Results oriented, product focused.
Team player, values the project, company and co-workers. High energy and passion towards integrating new features.
Experience with Agile methodologies.
