Re: [237medias:22517] Re: [C r e a t i v i e w s] Re: [camnetwork] Reasoning For You! And Religious Factoids

On point, Mr Boh, save for a few things.
Before I get to that, and to second your motion, largely, there s a thing called REASONING IGNORANCE.
Or reasoning out of ignorance.
Or, at best, reasoning what most people know already.
Reason why they are showing you the light.
Here, this is the blueprint for the humble as they seek TRUTH.
* What you know will condition what you think or reason.
*What you think or reason will condition what you believe.
*What you believe will condition what you say.
*What you say will condition what you do.
*What you do will condition who you are.
Save that for the Christ-ian, the Lord God short-circuited the process by putting BELIEF where some least expect ie in the HEART!
The heart thinks.
The heart reasons.
Reason why the French say, le coeur à ses raisons.
Reason why Christianity is not a religion but a relationship between a loving Father and his BE+LIVING or believing children.
Reason why you do not seek God with the head or the mind or the nose but with the HEART.
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Amazingly, the object or subject of this search is TRUTH.
Friend, you do not seek TRUTH with reason.
God is his WORD.
His WORD is truth.
Therefore God is TRUTH.
Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
God is Love.
The heart is the centre or the dwelling place of love so God dwells in the heat of MEN
And women.
1Jo 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1Jo 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
And, those who have found him through BELIEF and FAITH, just know that they have found him.
They do not have to reason that out.
They just know.
They know that they know that they know that they know that they know   that they know that they know that they know that they know.
If God is not in your  then UNBELIEF dwells therein.
START WORRYING.
You seek truth with the heart.
With BELIEF!
If BELIEF is not in your heart stat worrying.
You have a very serious problem.
But I am come to help you.
Do you desire to find God.
Read this:

Romans 10:8–13

But what does it say? lThe word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if myou confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and nbelieve in your heart othat God raised him from the dead, you will be saved10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved11 For the Scripture says, p“Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 qFor there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; rfor the same Lord is Lord of all, sbestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For t“everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Do this:

1God Loves You!

The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"

The problem is that . . .

2All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is calledsin, and our sins have separated us from God.

The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever. The Bible says “The wages of sin is death.”

The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago,

3God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.

4If you want to accept Christ as your Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life.  I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."

Did you pray this prayer?

Dear Albert,

Atheists are right to discuss God more than believers. You see - when you are still looking for something, the search consumes you. You can't stop thinking, talking about it. On the other hand, those who have found that which you still seek do not have the same worry. And that's okay. It is the sick who need a doctor and worry about a hospital; not the healthy. Those who have made money worry about spending what they have made; not looking for money. The poor think, dream almost without end about winning the lottery.

Believers are those who have found God - already. They, therefore, no longer meander all across the snow-filled plain in search of what they know they can only reach by sticking to the straight and narrow path. They go for goal and they do so blindly - for those who see with the eyes of Man only. Those - and they were millions - who lived in or who had already found the Americas were no longer searching. Not so, poor Christopher Columbus, who claimed to have found the New World after stumbling on what was always known by those who had no reason to be still searching.

So long as Columbus had not found the Americas, it did not exist. So, too, God. He exists only for those who have found Him.

We are all expected to search and find God on our own. Religion can help. The Bible can help. The Koran can help. Your neighbor can, also. Your enemy can, as well. But God is yours to find or not.

The beauty is that none of the things of the Heavens is given to us per force. There is a really cool thing called Fred Will. Not even God arrogates Himself the power to will you against your Free Will. That is how beautiful this thing is. You do as you please and God is at your service; not you at His. I came to serve, His Holy Book teaches.

Those like our dear sister, Samira, who insist on using the last ounce of their intellect to look for and to find God wherever He is hiding are doing what is right. Believers need not try to shut them down. They are God's children "and they, too, have a right to be here". They should not give up the search until they find God. Believers should and must help by showing love, because God is love. If believers want to show that they know God, they must show love. However, love does not mean giving up the truth, because God is truth, too.

Believers and non believers alike must wonder why God, who is love, lets so many bad things to happen, as Samira has often asked. If anyone thinks that because God is love, bad things should never visit those who are His own in the world, they are dead wrong! Check out those whom God loved most in this world. God let the Serpent tempt Adam and Eve. God it is who let all those many countless bad illnesses to ravage Job. It is God who let Israel (mankind ) to be sold into slavery ( of Egypt ) and the slavery of sin. God promised Abraham descendants as countless as the sands on the sea shore. Check out how many biological descendants Abraham had. It is God who commanded Moses to lead His people to the Promised Land. Did Moses make it to the Land of Milk and Honey? God did not spare His Only Begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, the pain of death on the cross.

We have heard one of Samira's many worries - the one raised about the Ten Commandments and how the contents of those tablets of stone are less than a masterpiece of legislation. The question would be: did God intend those tablets to be entered into any such competition? Besides, there is nothing wrong about those Commandments that is not fixed by other parts of the Wholesome Holy Book. Man has a way of reading meaning into what God does not intend. Remember how they wondered why "Jesus, the King of Jews" did not seem to be able to enter a contest of kings.

Our sister, Samira, has argued here - and on point - that most religions are anti-women and bastions of outdated abusive practices. I am believer, yet Samira and I are united in crying "shame on religion!" for the shortcomings they still display. However, Samira should not overplay this argument. Religion is not to be confused with God. Religion is an organization put in place by Man in the hope that it helps mankind find and keep a relation with their God.

For those, like Samira, who are outraged by the few imperfect rules religions offer, surely they cannot deny that the violations they decry would have been even more horrendous had it not been for religion.

The non believer, like our sister, Samira, who challenges the believer, like my brother Sam Esale, to a purely intellectual fight about God are embarked on the wrong fight. Our intellect - even as fine as Samira's - comprehend God only to the extent that we can fill the sea into a bucket .

The reason that intellectual exercise is a waste of time is not, as Samira often suggests, because the believer is incapable of things of the intellect. It is because the believer has chosen - as part of their faith - not to question their belief. It is a conscious decision. It is like choosing not to fight. It does not mean that the believer does not have doubts and worries. It is because the believer has surrendered those doubts and worries to God's care. The believer is not tortured by the woes of life. The believer has accepted them as part of their cross.

I understand why believers, like my brother Sam Esale and I, engage atheists, like our sister, Samira, trying to convince them about the existence, goodness, love and saving power of God. Believers are desperate to win as many as possible to God and to salvation. What I do not understand is what exactly atheists want chasing believers off believing? Is it only to help lead them back to damnation? Is that their mission?

If it is, I am ready to make a prediction: they will fail. They have already failed.

Mr Usumanu,
Am I to deduce that by your reckoning, it is a bad thing for atheists to talk about god? Is that supposed to be the exclusive preserve of believers? If religionists failed to talk about god, or question some of the mind-boggling dictaks, shouldn’t that void be filled by someone with an active brain who sees clearly with the benefit of a dispassionate observer? Perish the thought—but are you one of those men who think that I should be silenced or chased out of these forumsput up or shut up, leave or be harrassed—not that you’ve said so, just wondering if you think so? I put forward a rational debate, if anyone doesn't like it, tough! You're advised to delete my emails, I do the same of many people here.

I know that many Cameroonians are set in their ways about religion and god-rlated matters—I'm bored, sounding like a broken record stuck in its stylus, when I say this for the umpteenth time, knowing it is a fact. Atheists see a problem and speak up—they bring such discussions which have remained in the niche of believers to the open. Is that a problem? Inaction, as they say, is not an option! I don’t know what field of expertise you lay claims to, but I believe you’re not a professional footballer, a medical doctor or even a Catholic priest. Would it be fair or justifiable if an imposition was placed on you to limit your analyses in the domain of your qualifications? Well, just wondering whether your statement about atheists talking about god is rhetorical or an empty comment hanging in the air as a spurious burst of an unfinished complaint.

Facepalm! I don’t mean to make a mockery of that comment.  But don’t you see that it is a self-contradicting irony? What is inanimate about a “Big Bang?” Not that the comment makes sense to me, anyway. Maybe you care to elaborate?

Mr Usumanu, I think, therefore I talk. I'll leave you with the well-known anecdote about America's father of Architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright! The story goes...

"As a boy he [Frank Lloyd Wright] used to a lot of time on his uncle’s farm in Spring Green, USA. It was there that he had one of the most formative experiences of his life. He was 9 years old, it was a winter’s day, and he and his uncle had just walked across a snow-covered field. Frank’s uncle stopped the young boy and pointed to the tracks they had left in the snow. Frank’s meandered all over the place, while his uncle’s went in a straight line from start to finish. “Notice how your tracks wander aimlessly from the fence to the cattle to the woods and back again,” his uncle said. “And see how my tracks aim directly to my goal. There is an important lesson in that.”
Years later the world-famous architect pointed to the important lesson he learned that day, but it was not the lesson his uncle had intended him to learn. “I determined right then,” said Frank Lloyd Wright, “not to miss most things in life, as my uncle had.

I am not one to swallow long-held beliefs and unexplained inferences as facts just because it is community wisdom and everyone else does. Faith to me involves a thinking process.
