Ethics have two building blocks: first that resides within one, a combination of values gifted by life instincts and values imbibed by virtue of customs, traditions, etc., second outside one coming from social, business or other regulatory bodies.
Naturally, many a times ethics appear/turn to be contradictory commensurate with location, demography, culture, regional variations, etc. For example, in India kissing in public places is certainly (as yet) considered unethical, but not so in Paris, speed money or plagiarism is not taken seriously in India but certainly in some countries like Germany, totally unethical fetching severe punishment to those who are involved, etc. Considering ethics equivalent to moral or morale may prove often misleading. Ethics is a code of conduct, bible of behavior or maintenance of relationships in a group, to be observed by one and all pertaining to a calling/profession one takes up to support oneself and his family. That means observance of ethics ultimately heps promote one's prosperity.
To be successful in this mission, something though appearing unethical may be ethical from business point of view. For instance, providing excellent lodging/ boarding provisions to the inspection-committee members, collecting additional charges from students for organizing student- programmes on Personality
Development, sponsoring some event for creating good will, etc.
We need not confuse with ethics and moral or morale.

m>I am not contradicting on the subject of ethics. Recently , one of my mentors told ';something may be unethical but from business perspective that is ethical'; . Is it possible to endorse this view without being idealistic? Happunethical, not is not so in Paris,y Knowledge Sharing. Best Regards,.
