Mishe Fon
You've probably left out Dr Fusi of Bamenda who has Bamenda International University. He  alone runs the whole show and is Chancellor, Founder, Burser, lecturer and you name it. He started    around 1990 without  a campus and has been that way ever since. He started the University with about ten faculties and scores of departments at once. No government order has succeeded to close him down because once they shut whatever facility he is renting at any given moment, Bamenda International University simply pops up immediately somewhere else. To have a Ph.D from there you need about two years even if you had never gone to School before. Dr. Ngohbising Suh Romanus veteran Cameroonian Journalist got his doctorate from there. Afterall Dr Fusi and Ngohbising come from the same village - Bafut.  A retired custom officer from Kom graduated from there with a Doctorate in two years and wrote twenty books that same year. That is how powerful that University is.
No government order has succeeded to  shut him down. He has occupied Nacho campus when the school was in trouble, used part of newlife shopping building on the Commercial Avenue, had been tenant to Mr Ndofor owner of KTC Nkwen, once occupied PCC campus when the school was in hibernation, had lecture Halls at Azire primary School  in the evening and during the day when schools are on holidays, - in fact he's been all over the place and still is. The fact is that the man seem to defy death.  He is waxing strong but maybe its because he has never owned a car and so even walks on foot to Bamenda station from town to to quarrel with the DO or Governor. He does not drink, never smokes  and even in has academic costume  when invited to any function at the CPDM congress hall, he  makes sure he never gets disappointed if no food is served there and so makes sure he eats his boiled fresh groundnuts as he walks to the hall. You can always trace his steps by following the pealings he drops on the way to the hall.
So far for our private initiatives. What were these Niger people doing by going to the authorities  when they wanted to start a university? Dr Fusi has been running one for close to a quarter of a century and can boast of rapid results given the number of Ph.D holders in Bamenda today.

How does your "over-loaded" title here above fit the narrative of the Nigerian "trying his garri" to obtain a License to operate a Private University? I don't get it. Must you have a PhD to be the proprietor of any "Private" Institution of learning? Pa Mubang was a very prolific and successful "Education" promoter with his PCC Mubang. Pa KTC, Pa Longla-ss, Pa Nacho, Pa CCC and Pa Comprehensive (just to name a few) were amongst the pioneers of "Private Technical" education in Cameroon. These devoted citizens trained thousands of our kontri peepoo who today are all over the world contributing to society.

Let me tell you something: I am not a trained Journalist but if I go today to CRTV and they ask for my credentials; I will produce one in a heart beat. You know why? Bicos I know I can not only perform the job; but the others can will learn from a Pro. Some people are simply "gifted" at what they do. I beg Maitre, lef peepoo make dem debrouiller. Do you know how many Ministers in our country have "Fake Dokky and Wuru Wuru Nkong Nwane"? Go and ask Minister A...(ih go hard U, na 4 my mop U want hia) where he studied 4 true

Did you ever know that famous "Journalists" in Cameroon like Jolly Nibngom, Daniel Zok Ambassa, Folly Dirane, Abed Nego, Rose Epie, Zachary Nkwo, Willie Chindo,  Albert Mbengue, Anne Marthe Mvoto, Jomo Kevin were never Real Journalists (I mean like having Dokky for Mass Communication or School of Kongossa?)..But could you take away from these guys their effectiveness in communication bicos Dokky jam? No way. I beg, Screw the insinuation you are trying to inject here. Make peepoo do wetin dem like to do. By the way, name names: Who are those Cameroonians in the USA who are faking PhDs? I would like to contact them to grab my own ASAP. I want go me back 4 Kontri.

Na wetin sef. Some man na shit hole? Who no like Dokta infront their names? How much the damn thing cost sef. When you enter a hall and someone shouts: "Dokta Mishe Fon"..Just look around especially at the women. Their eyes will be popping up like dog wey ih see bone, faking recognition and "smiling 4 notice". That is the Pawa of Dokta infront of your name. As for women "Doktas" that is a different hot story for another langua.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.

Ta Mfar Mishe Fon

NUC arrests fake Professor over plot to establish varsity

By Innocent Oweh / Correspondent, Abuja

Authorities of the National Universities Commission (NUC) said on Thursday they have apprehended one Ambi P.N. who claimed to be a Professor of Statistics from suspicious universities both in Ghana and Nigeria.

According to a statement by the NUC, the suspect and two other accomplices have been handed over to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

The fake professor was said to have met his waterloo when he approached the NUC authorities to submit a proposal for the establishment of a 'Nigeria-British University' to be cited in Lagos.

Officials of the proposed university were invited for further interaction with the NUC based on the "letter of intent to establish a private university".

The letter was dated December 23, 2013 and was signed by one Rev. Dr. Paul Emmanuel.

A lawyer whose name was not disclosed was also part of the team.

According to the NUC, the interaction took place at the Idris Abdulkadir Auditorium at the Commission's headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, on Tuesday.

NUC also explained that the purpose of inviting the team for interaction was to ascertain the level of commitment of the promoter of the proposed university to decide whether or not to issue application forms.

"This is part of the process leading to the award of licence to operate a private university," the commission explained.

Daily Independent gathered that during the course of the interaction, NUC's Executive Secretary, Julius Okojie, sought to know how the said Ambi P.N. became a professor.

Ambi was said to have given conflicting accounts, thereby raising suspicion about himself.

In one account, he reportedly claimed to have obtained his professorship from the Obong University, Obong Ntak, Akwa Ibom State, and studied at the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, up to PhD level.

In another version, he also claimed to have studied at the University of Ewe, Ghana, and on a third account, he claimed to be a staff of Covenant University on sabbatical leave at Obong University.

NUC immediately made enquiries from both universities he mentioned in Nigeria and both denied knowledge of him.

This prompted his apprehension by the police authorities.

"Being mindful of the fact that his claims are false, his act amounts to a crime punishable by our laws," NUC said.

Meanwhile, an attempt to parade the suspects before journalists failed, as the FCT police said investigations were still on.

According to the FCT force Public Relations Officer,Hyelhira Daniel, she said at the appropriate time when investigations must have been concluded the accused persons would be paraded.
