I really do not think this is true anymore.

Most bright youngsters these days seem to have the following preference:

1. Turn Entrepreneur

2.  Go abroad for higher studies

3. Join MNC's in India.

4. Join scientific research institutions.

5. Join the Civil Services.

6. Join the military & quasi military services like the merchant navy

7. Join PSU's
