Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate-II] Should you discuss your salary with your Colleagues

dear friends,
supriya point is right.
nothing moves in no 1, salary ,perks and privileges, at least in Indian corporates,
none of the corporate ever  exposes scams.. salaries of the board of directors are indicated in the board proceedings, but the perks
 quantum missing.. why such a hue and cry over Swiss banks secrecy?
one should be happy to get what he/she deserves.
thanks

Days would not be far when RTI would be extended to salary disclosure. Is it because the private body corporates operate with inordinate and unexplained discrimination of salary between the employees higher up and sloggers down below?  Yes, everything is permitted in free and open economy. I fail to understand why then the corporates hesitate to disclose figures as long as it is fairly paid. Do they feel guilty or shy because of earning huge extra? Investors even have the right to know.

Today, no employee works on an island. Watertight compartments are history.
It is all about TEAM WORK.
To be a good team player, an employee needs to be transparent in all dealing & discuss everything including SALARY.
We observe a plethora of conflicts in organization on salary justification.
Still, discuss your salary with colleagues openly, take suggestions, look at your job description,
job evaluation, job enrichment, offer opinions, ask for addnl responsibilities, action plan,,,,,,,,,,
Never get into a comparitive mode or take it personally if your own colleague is getting more.
It happens . ASK FOR A HIKE & DEMAND, IF NEED BE. You may or may not get what is expected;
Many a time, Management is unaware of a dissatisfied employee"s salary expectations because he or she has not expressed it to any one in the organization.
He must inform the immediate superior or HR about it.
Those who ASK get what they want - law of nature.
