Network Systems Engineering Specialist
The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Intel based server systems are properly deployed, maintained, administered, supported and updated in an effective manner. This individual will assist other engineers and analysts in implementing innovative and cost effective technology services encompassing both hardware and software based systems, to support our objectives for customer satisfaction, growth and organizational effectiveness.
Under the direction of the Network Systems Team Leader and working in conjunction with our partnered vendor resources, the Network Systems Engineer will recommend, implement and support server services, client/server applications, Email, Intranets, Extranets, Internet applications, Fax Server and Terminal Server services. This individual will also assist and train other network team individuals in these technologies and applications.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Work
• Monitoring and updating the servers and all its related peripherals such as storage and security components.
• Assist in the development, implementation and support of all development groups
• Configuration and installation of client/server hardware, systems and software
• Provide proactive network management with deployment and use of management tools.
• Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of server hardware and software.
• Maintain vendor contacts and relationships to ensure timely and effective resolution of problems/failures.
• Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating technical documentation as pertains to the enterprise network.
• Assist Desktop and Infrastructure group in troubleshooting various connectivity problems
• Research network system enhancements and ensure adherence to enterprise networking standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor's degree
• College diploma in Computer Science
• Related practical business experience
Experience
• At least 7 years' experience in Enterprise-Networking environment.
• At least 4-5 years' experience in implementation, troubleshooting and monitoring of client/server enterprise environment.
• Windows 2003 Server – Windows Server 2012.
• Microsoft Exchange 2010.
• DHCP, WINS, DNS, SQL Server, IIS, RightFax.
• TCP/IP, Frame Relay.
• NIC hardware, hubs, switches and router experience.
• HTML, IIS and ASP.
• HP Server Hardware, HP System Integration Manager.
• VMWare ESX Server.
• PowerShell
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Desired Qualifications
• Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE)
• VMWare Certified
• Citrix Server certification or equivalent experience
• Project Management experience
• Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of employees.
• Team player with customer oriented focus.
• Automotive leasing/retail or Financial business exposure.
