Role: Release Engineer
Location: BEAVERTON, Oregon
Duration: 6 month
As a Release Engineer you will work in a team environment to orchestrate builds, release packages, ticketing, and deployment oversight for IBMs Mortgage Servicing Technology group. This role works with developers and other release team members for the deployment of web, Windows, and UNIX based software solutions for mortgage servicing and financial systems.
The Release Engineer will own the development build infrastructure, including the source control systems for all Servicing Technology projects. This will include designing and implementing internal processes and tools to support continuous integration and unit testing as well as ensuring all department releases meet the standards set forth by the Release Quality Management team, the IT Change Management team, and the Data Center Operations release team. In addition, the Release Engineer will be an evangelist for good Release Management practices.
Key Accountabilities:
Work with multiple project teams to ensure release package quality and conformance to standards and oversee the deployment of them to production environments as well as other non-development environments (SQA, UAT, DR etc.)
Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and build management
Build tools and processes for internal departmental use to support software engineering best practices
Primary owner of internal build and release tools and processes
Coordinate the release requests, including ticketing, championing the releases through the Change Advisory Board, and acting as a central point of contact for Servicing Technology deployments
Assist team members with troubleshooting issues, run batch process when necessary, SQL queries, Informatica schedule or job updates, file permission changes, other operational activities as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years of experience in IT process management or technology management
Two (2) or more years of release engineering or release management experience
Four (4) or more years of experience managing technology deployments
Two (2) or more years of experience using ITIL best practices.
Two (2) or more years of experience with source control tools like TFS and CVS
Two (2) or more years of experience with SQL, Informatica and AutoSys
Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) years of related experience
Bachelors degree in a related field
One (1) or more years of experience in mortgage servicing
One (1) or more years experience in a financial lending firm
