Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate-I] Learn OR Earn

WITH DUE RESPECT TO Dr PRABHAKAR ji
*************************************************
Dhruva is in the vanguard in offering PGDM cost-to-cost since two decades. Our tuition fee is Rs 4,25,000 for two years that includes tuition, books, reading material.insurance, local tours, food, life skills training, simulation lab etc.We also provide tuition waiver ranging 25 % to 100%  to atleast 10 students every year. And almost all our graduating students are placed whose average annual package pays back their PGDM cost in less than 16 months(global bench mark).
During the last 20 Years since inception,we've not made a single Re profit.More that what meets the eye,we provide the best in A,P & 13th best in India"Infra & living experience-Business world,July,2013".Experts -national & international- visiting Dhruva outnumber  even those who visit the top B-School in Hyderabad.
This however doesn't in any way contradict Dr Prabhakar's suggestion to help willing economically backward students to allow to "earn while you learn".My only apprehension is that the Gen Y may not be able to do multi tasking-let alone doing justice to PGDM!

Since we have adopted cost based education system, our tuition fees are skyrocketing, causing a large percentage of students coming from rural and poor families to abandon the education for want of funds. It has been experienced that if an institute make some provisions for such students to earn some money say Rs 200-500 per week, it helps students in a big way.
Please see the attachment, the scheme developed by the u/s for MIT,another e-book may find quite interesting. I have also attached another enclosure on earning, learning and yearning.

I sincerely believe that such a provision is a part of  our community responsibility.

' Learn while you earn' model was doing quite well in the recent past under different delivery platforms like industry integrated program, weekend program , participative program etc. It is good for executive education and not for students. Slowly , it is fading away. Recently , Denmark Government announced a judgement and called students to leave their job and engage in full-time learning in university/college in a measure to improve the standard of Higher Education.
