Interesting Group Description
The concept of REPUBLIC OF AMBAZONIA came into existence in 1984 by taking advantage of Cameroon's plot to wipeout Southern Cameroons from history. However in the ensuing course of the emancipation of the people formerly called THE UNITED NATIONS TRUST TERRITORY OF THE SOUTHERN CAMEROONS UNDER UNITED KINGDOM ADMINISTRATION [Southern Cameroonians/ British Southern Cameroonians, Anglophone Cameroonians] arose the dire need to inculcate into their political sub-culture the sense of UNIQUE IDENTITY as a people, a nation and as the sovereign state of Ambazonia (British Southern Cameroons). www.ambazonia.org
Hence the name AMBAZONIA: Please consider this as the pre-independence identity for our people to immunize them from all the CONFUSIONISM that prevail in Cameroon!
Note: This name does not belong to anybody!!!
It is the product of 'consensus' from proto-Ambazonians who early as 1966, saw the devastation on the psyche of our people caused by the dominant Francophonie system and hatched this as a solution! Coalescing around an IDENTITY as was surmised then and still true now, is a sure LAST STAND strategy short of open CONFLICT, an aggrieved people can adopt in fighting for their freedom. We have not done this yet and are paying dearly for this!
Consequently, this forum should act like an incubator for a sustaining AMBAZONIAN MOVEMENT, which coming from the people will be their own weapon to fight back pan-Cameroonism -OUR NUMBER ONE ENEMY!
FREE AMBAZONIA FORUM is dedicated to promoting this survival concept tied to identity, nationalism and resolve. The Cameroon's claims that we are Cameroonians from the Southern Cameroons, sadly have some merit since we clearly are the best promoters of pan-cameroonism inside Cameroon and worse, in the diaspora!
THUS SHORT OF TAKING UP ARMS STUGGLE, LET US ENGAGE THIS FIGHT AS THE AMBAZONIAN PEOPLE AND NEVER AS A CAMEROONIAN of whatever cardinality. Its simple a matter of our survival -- we are not and will never be Cameroonians!
