Job Details:
Position - Application Technical Lead
Application technical lead for Integration /ESB team 100% hands on and responsible for working in conjunction with business analysts and IT teams to drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Provide expertise throughout all phases of the insurance system migration project including data analysis, data conversion, data validation and documentation.
General Responsibilities:
• Responsible for determining and planning the conversion process and methodology for the ETL and SOA , analyzing and mapping data structures and formats, obtaining agreement from the teams regarding mapping and business rules, transforming the data as per requirements, testing and validating the conversions, reporting the results, and loading the transformed data to the new format.
• Interface with Business partners and Subject Matter Experts to understand requirements/structures, solve problems, troubleshoot issues and ensure data integrity
• Deliver detailed documentation on all aspects of the data analysis, conversion and validation process
• Perform ad hoc tasks, as needed, related to data migration such as receiving and transmitting data over the network, loading content into databases, converting images and graphics, and participating on special development tasks
• Work closely with ETL and Cognos developers to provide solutions for complex data/reporting requirements
• Conduct software integration and external interface development. Combine multiple technologies to provide alternative practical solutions
• Provide technical direction to development teams. Prepare reports, studies and documentation, and participate in meetings
• Interact with Application Support and coordinate any patch and code deployments with System Administration teams
• Understand the various types of tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage
Skills and Knowledge
Required:
o 5+ years of experience in application delivery including design and delivery of component and/or service-based systems/applications is required
o 3+ years of progressively responsible technical leadership experience is required.
o 5+ years of experience in J2EE and SOA implementations is required
o 5+ years of experience in Web Services and Enterprise Service Bus technologies including production implementation of WebSphere ESB, WebSphere MQ is required
o 5+ years of knowledge in relational database management systems is required.
o Experience in production implementation of migration project is required
o Experience in technology product evaluation/selection and making "buy versus build" recommendations, including both software and hardware technologies required
Preferred:
o Insurance industry domain knowledge with strong system analysis skills is preferred
o 3+ years of Data warehousing technologies, ETL and Business Intelligence tools is a big plus
o 3+ years of experience in WebSphere BPM, WebSphere DataPower is a big plus
o 3+ years of knowledge in Business Rule management systems is a plus
o 3+ years of knowledge in workflow/business process management tools is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to create and deliver technical presentations to technical teams and business partners is required.
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS
