Job Description:
Our client is looking for a strong, enthusiastic Data Scientist to join their team focusing on developing out use cases for leveraging Demand Signal data to drive incremental revenue and profit opportunities. The candidate would design and analyze experiments to test use case concepts. Then also be able to develop models and data-driven solutions that increase revenue and profit opportunities.
Required Qualifications
· Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, highly dimensional data from varying sources as well as driving the collection of new data
· Extensive experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, creative data analysis, algorithm development, and modeling.
· A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
· PhD or equivalent in a quantitative discipline: Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Economics, Social Sciences etc.
· Strong experience with applied statistics (especially experimentation) and defining key business metrics.
· Expertise in working with large amounts of real data with R, SAS, or other statistical packages.
· Concrete experience developing and industrializing statistical models
· Ability to interpret and communicate complex quantitative analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
· A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision
· Experience with data visualization tools or packages
· Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with consumer products and retail sales
· Retail point of sale analysis
· Familiarity with various data sources such as: Nielsen, IRI, POS, Social Media, Demographic, etc.
· Experience working with unstructured data sources
· Proficiency for automating processes with scripting.
· Expert knowledge of R open source statistical language and integration with SAP HANA
· Experience using SAP Predictive Analysis, Infinite Insight, and the SAP HANA Predictive Analysis library (PAL) to develop predictive analytic models
· Experience programming in C++ to perform in-database data mining and statistical calculations using the Predictive Analysis library in SAP HANA
