Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Debate-I] Women in the C suite

Reservations are a necessary evil. In a society with centuries of social inequalities and oppression it was required. But it is the way of implementation that resulted in a monopoly by a few.
What about reservations in the form of hefty donations and fee that seats are accessible to the rich only?

Dear MTCians,

A relevant discussion. But the question is what is actually 'short
term'? Indian Constitution initially provided for Reservation for a
'short term' of 10 years. And even after six to seven decades of
Independence, we are unable to get rid of Reservation. In fact, it has
been growing by leaps and bounds mostly to serve the political vote
banks. Reservation has resulted in more harm to our economy and
society outweighing the benefits. If we are refusing to learn any
lesson from that experience, no one can save us.

Regards and best wishes,
Maharajan K
