[MTC Global] Great reading

The female fairness cream market in India is 2000 crores. The male fairness segment is at 250 crores and is growing at a scorching 150% per year. And you are telling me that Giriraj is a racist? I salute him for he had the balls to speak the truth when none did.

And what has a historical bias towards fair skin got to do with racism? Does Indian media understand the word "racism"? There is premium on fairness in India and it's not just restricted to India. These facial fairness creams to the creams which make your vagina fairer existed in the US long before they hit the Indian markets. Studies in the US have shown that people with fairer skin do better economically. Even immigrants in the US, with fairer skin earn more as per some studies. People of African ancestry in the US have historically used these creams so they could blend in with their white masters by shunning their black identities. This skin color discrimination is rampant.

And why should Nigerian women feel offended? Stop fighting their case dear Indians. If African countries were so confident of their skin color then they and not US would have made the likes of Naomi Campbell super-models. Also I keep hearing South Indians constantly crib about skin color discrimination. Well, well..again if they were so confident of their skin color, they wouldn't be contributing that large chunk to the multi-crore fairness market. Let's face facts, till today we are not proud of who we are. And Giriraj is right!
