Subject: COURT ACTION FOR RELEASE OF Pa VINCENT JUMBAM, STEPHEN KONGNSO ANDOTHERS.

Wirngo Vincent Jumbam,Stephen Kongnso, Walters Numvi, Che Clovis and Tabufor Andrew are still being incarcerated, tortured at the Judicial Police headquarters in Bamenda and all attempts to see them have been futile. The police officer I met on duty told me in unequivocal terms that nobody is allowed to see them and when I asked to know when they intend to take them to court or even before the State Counsel he told me that he had no idea. So I immediately summoned some colleagues in Bamenda and after a working session we filed Suit No HCMB/07CRM/2015 on their behalf as applicants which is an application for Habeas Corpus with the following prayers

1.      AN ORDER OF HABEAS CORPUS directed against the Respondents herein to immediately produce the Applicants herein before this Honorable court and justify their continuous incarceration at the Judicial Police, Bamenda

2.      AND FOR ANY FURTHER ORDER(S) this Hon Court shall deem apposite to make in the special circumstances of this case.

TAKE NOTICE that should the Respondent fail, neglect or refuse to produce the Applicants before this Court and justify their continuous incarceration, the Court shall proceed to immediately release them as required by law.

 We were however unable to have the matter assigned so that we can fix a date for hearing at the earliest opportunity.We however proposed the date of Thursday 28th May 2015 which will be confirmed today. As soon as that is done, we shall keep you posted.

It should however be noted that on that same day the case of OBEN MAXWELL will be coming up in Court in Buea. He was granted bail but is still in detention in the Buea Central Prison because the conditions for release cannot be fulfilled.
