[MTC Global] Delhi government approves higher education loan scheme--a giant move

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi recently approved an education scheme under which loans of up to Rs1 million (US$15,670) will be provided to students pursuing higher education in the national capital, reports Press Trust of India.

Under the 'Higher Education Credit Guarantee Scheme', students would be provided loans without any collateral or third-party guarantee or margin money. There would be no processing charges for the same.

According to a senior government official, students pursuing any skills development course or diploma or degree course after finishing the qualifying examination from any school and educational institution in Delhi are eligible under this scheme. The scheme will also be applicable for industrial training institutes and polytechnic colleges.
