Job/Role Description

·         Build and manage the next generation tools for our continuous integration, automated testing and release management needs.

·         Develop automation solutions to make the software delivery process as reliable and efficient as possible. This role will also drive improvements to ensure a repeatable and reliable process &ndash thus you will be working closely with development, QA, and product teams. The automation solutions you develop will define how our application and infrastructure code gets built, packaged, assembled, deployed, monitored and alerted on in our preproduction and production environments.

·         We look for self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment &ndash providing expertise in many layers of the Application and Infrastructure stack, being able to adapt to changing tools and technologies quickly, initiative and eagerness to learn new technologies.  But most importantly &ndash we look for people who can prioritize, multi-task, and deliver to timelines.

·         Stays up to date with web and mobile technologies

·         Work closely with our integration engineering teams to understand how applications function, the software and processes required to run and monitor them.

·         Work with a team of engineers through technical analysis, design, construction, deployment and support of scalable software delivery automation solutions. Conduct design and code reviews as part of the solution development process

·         Excellent written and verbal Communication Skills, ability to communicate with technical groups effectively.

Expected skills:
Mandatory

·         7+ years of software engineering with specific focus on developing Java applications for large scale web properties

·         5+ years' experience building Java web applications. Solid understanding of Java 1.6+ SDK

·         Experience with unit-testing and functional-testing frameworks for Java web applications.
Solid understanding of build management frameworks like Ant, Maven specifically around using their Java APIs.

·         Past professional experience of working at the interface between development and operations.

·         3+ years' experience in developing applications and tools in one or more of the following languages - Groovy, JRuby, Ruby, Perl, Jython, Python

 

Good To Have .

·         2+ years experience with at least one deployment and provisioning tool like Chef, Puppet, Capistrano

·         Good understanding of Linux/UNIX/POSIX systems tooling

·         Experience building continuous integration solutions using Repository managers like Nexus, Artifactory,  Archiva especially with the REST and/or JCR (Java) API


Mandatory Skills: Java-J2EE SOA Governance, SOA Design, SOAP, Java-J2EE, SOA Architecting Desirable Skills: Core Java, Apache Maven, JAX-RS - Java API for RESTful Web Services
