POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA) participates in the design and leads the quality assurance aspects of the performance marketing program development, leads testing on software projects, develops acceptance test automation, develops load / stress tests, develops test plans and test cases from business requirements, executes test cases, tracks software defects, and verifies software fixes. 

 

The QAA operates in a team environment with other members of the Technology Services product team and will be working on both client facing projects as well as production support projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide prompt, courteous and exemplary service to all customers, both external and internal, in accordance with the corporate mission, vision, values and beliefs of the client

Support the client's commitment to quality by developing and maintaining position-specific procedures, process instructions and/or forms meeting the requirements of ISO9001:2008 and subsequent revisions

Attend work on a regular basis

Adhere to all guidelines as outlined in the client's Employee Handbook

Accept responsibility for personal and professional development

Lead testing on software development projects, responsibilities include:

Estimate tasks and create strategies from a testing perspective

Set priorities and review other team members' work

Communicate status on issues and test progress

Lead discussion on when to employ different test techniques such as test automation, load/stress testing, regression testing and manual acceptance testing

Provide documentation and training related to system changes to team members and end users

Collaborate with product team and product owner to communicate and document issues, fixes and recommendations

Create test plans and test cases to document how applications will be tested using a Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodology

Maintain strong technical and business knowledge of the applications;  Maintain awareness of latest technology by reading periodicals, attending professional organizations, communicating with outside firms and communicating with software and hardware vendors

Continuously evaluate and maintain the method of testing, documentation and the overall assurance that all issues reported receive the appropriate testing necessary before making it available in test, demo or production

Work with the Supervisors and Manager of Technology Services and recommend changes, improvements, and enhancements to the testing methodology

Develop a firm understanding of the Performance Improvement industry by taking appropriate training courses that focus on the science of the business and how the client's technical platform supports the company's goals.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related major or comparable work experience

Minimum of five years of experience

testing client/server and web based applications

developing, implementing and documenting test plans and test scripts

providing time estimates for testing an application

with established and proven software development methodologies and procedures

collaborating with technical staff and business end users

effective planning, scheduling, managing commitments, and managing multiple projects concurrently

SQL skills and experience with SQL Database Query Analyzer

in all phases of testing, documenting results and communicating the results;  Specific experience working with the client's current primary technology and software preferred

with Agile software development concepts and testing in an Agile work environment

Ability to create automated tests compatible with Microsoft Visual Studio, using the automated testing tool SpecFlow (Cucumber for .NET) and the distributed revision control system Git, for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)

Requires creativity, sound judgment, and the foresight to identify potential problems within the application and its interface

Strong motivation and self-direction, sound problem solving skills, decision making, and multitasking skills

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers' needs in a timely manner; Customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred

Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines
