Re: [MTC Global] Diversity in teaching

Respected Professor Dutta,

It is reality that Faculty should not only devote in teaching but also in training, participating/ associating in work shop / Seminar /etc.Besides, they must engage themselves in research, which is the back bone or measuring rod of academicians as also exposure in industry.

My experience in industry for the last 43 years including research and full time faculty in reputed management institute reveals that faculties are lacking in research. This may be due to dearth of infrastructure, poor payment to the faculty leading to alternative avenues, poor guidance from the top management or over burden of classes.

Now the crux of the issue  we must fix some yardstick that they should have industry exposure, research, and entrepreneurship.Almost every thing is there in pen and paper. Implementation is lacking. Who is going address this?.

In this connection I am enclosing my Cv for my research work.

Very well said Prof. Dutta. Every faculty needs to constantly INVOLVE, EVOLVE & EMPOWER(IEE) oneself and that is how there is complete dissemination, creation and sharing of knowledge!

Diversity in teaching. Faculty should not depend only on salary. It makes one vulnerable. Faculty need to engage in consultancy, MDP , industry sponsored project, paid research etc. Someone said, each faculty should be an entrepreneur too so that synergetic effect and knowledge transfer can happen. This is a radical thought but already taking shape....
