While I am not an advocate of IIPM or ISB, but as managers and management academicians we need to go by the facts - as Infosys founder Mr. Narayana Murthy once said.

I have visited ISB and spent a week there. Despite myself being a proud alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and on the IIMA Governing Society for the last seven years, let me tell you that ISB is indeed the finest management institution of India in terms of everything - facilities, infrastructure, courses, faculty, corporate networking and placements. Internationally ISB is ranked higher than IIMs including IIMA, specially in research - the much advocated "must" in MTC Global for higher education institutions.

If IIPM and ISB are suckers then AICTE, NCTE, UGC, NAAC, NBA, etc. are the biggest suckers since by giving the approvals and accreditation to bogus and sub-standard institutions for their own vested interests, they create legitimacy for such institutions and the students join these - to regret the rest of their life. As per the Ishwar Dayal Committee report, in over 80% of AICTE approved management institutions there are hardly any placements since these do not develop the corporate-required competencies. No wonder you will find these MBAs willing to apply for even non-managerial jobs which may not give them even Rs. 5000 per month.
