ACTUAL JOB TITLE: Senior Developer - Oracle PL/SQL ETL and OBIEE Reporting - Application Support BASIC PURPOSE To provide technical support with day-to-day management of incident, problem, knowledge and change management for assigned applications and technologies. Provide technical support in the research and analysis of application stability improvements, requests and problems for internal users and external customers and vendors (Users); to provide assistance, advice, problem solving, and technical information to Users regarding the use of software applications; to act as liaison with Users regarding the status of their issues and requests. This position exercises responsibility for the application and execution of established procedures related to information systems operations and for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of system output, assuring that such output meets user needs. This person could be assigned to build, test, and debug code, interfaces, and configure software packages. Will be part of a 6 person support team that rotates weekly for support of data warehousing ETL and reporting. This person will be responsible for applying technical knowledge, skills, and judgment to solve problems relating to systems and subsystems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Respond to User inquiries and incidents within service level agreements deliver on SLA objectives • Resolution of complex application and technical issues including problems related to enterprise networks, servers and workstations • Configure software packages; design, code, and test program modules that meet design specifications as required; update code to address defects and small change requests or enhancements • Identify solutions or work around open issues/problems • Work directly with USF end users, IT staff or 3rd party technology staff to resolve issues • Track, monitor and report progress of assignments; update HPSM activity logs in a timely manner; document and track case histories, issues, and action steps taken; timely follow-up on open issues, communicating status and setting resolution expectations with users and management • Escalate issues according to established communications guidelines and checklists • Improve support policies and procedures documentation; create/update system and application documentation as required • Ensure standards are met; applying USF best practices • Create required HPSM RFC for assigned production changes; create, execute and document the tests necessary to ensure that an application or technical environment meets functional specifications and performance requirements. • Perform post-installation system review and ongoing support. • Maintain, tune and repair applications in a proactive manner in order to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications; performing preventive activities • Deliver on SLA objectives • Ensure compliancy with policies, standards, and software licensing SPECIFIC DUTIES FOR THIS POSITION • Support of data warehouse data integrity • Support of ETL processing • Support of Reporting (OBI) • Research reporting discrepancies • Application Support and Maintenance • Weekday, evening and weekend support (as needed) RELATIONSHIPS • IT - Works regularly with up to the VP level. Problem solves up to the VP level across IT organizations. Works extensively with Solution and Technical Architects. • Business - Works regularly with up to the VP level. Problem solves across Business organizations. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Business or related field, or appropriate technical training and/or equivalent job experience (5 yrs experience in Information Technology).
