SAF/ GREGG et AL.... Burundi: Top General Assassinated in the Capital

Don't even try to fight SAF on this topic. If you no been sabi, know now say most Mankon people are Zimbabweans. SAF was Private Secretary to Bishop Muzorewa and an prominent ZANU/PF student activist during his days at the University of Science and Technology, Bulawayo. The guy should have been nominated Minister of Culture in Mugabe's cabinet had it not been for his In-Law (a Camnet resident trouble maker) who reported his dual nationality status to the Zimbabwean Secret Service that Mugabe asked to conduct "Back Ground Check" on SAF. What kind of a Moyo is that?
Again Massa Greg, lef Massa SAF lecture you on his knowledge (not the googled wikipedia inventions that fakw historians splash online for the consumption of lazy researchers) of not only Rhodesia, but the whole Southern Africa. Do you remember Steve Biko? Look at SAF again two times and tell me that you don't believe in reincarnation; Even identical twins have some differences buy this one pass my Pawa.

Tah Mfar Mishe Fon

NB: I am sorry, I just got discharged (I mean came back home) after two days admission at the Washington Hospital Center...(Yes 4 Montolli, High Broad Pleasure, Syphillis and manpikin Sugar Suger). Some peepoo go hia Discharge now start think say na the other kind Discharge 3 last heure. Like this other anonymous clown who sends me a menacing private email with "You dis Mishe, the way weh you dey accuse peepoo say dem be PAT NDEP, I no go surprise say tomorrow you go kommot another Bomb say Pat Ndep na Paul Biya...bicos man no re know with you. Make I hia U wrat something again about PAT NDEP....idiot. Get out of my face"
Just for me one oh. I am sick me in my small corner and they are threatening me. By the way, the origins of the mail whether from Stone Valley or Stone Mountain, the bottom line is, they mails come from the State of Georgia where stones exist in Valleys and Mountains or WHATCHAMACALLIT.

Even our In-House analytic probono Lawyer, Maitre Ngia Tumasang (Nigeria Limited) has concluded that no one has mounted a sound comprehensive rebuttal to desquamate the most recent revelations by Mishe Fon other than the usual platitudes of "I no fit belief say...It cannot be true....Proof no dey but... bla bla bla.
All I ask is: Prove that Mishe Fon,s Proofs are not proveable by providing your own proveable Proofs. They (the Georgia crowd) asked me to apologize (for what??) and I said NOT SO FAST because I need a more robust debunking than the nonsense I have read so far. Even those who claim they studied IT (even time weh dem be still dey 4 dem mammy yi belle) are completely clueless and have been letting this idiot of an Internet bug (Pat not PAH Ndep) ride rough shod insulting everyone and causing societal calamities. IT Gurus, wuna wake up, shake skin and be counted. Don't say: Dat ting don pass we Pawa. How? Did you guys graduate from all those Oracle Database Software/Hareware schools at all? If na me, Mishe wuna want gang up against, na so intellectual kassingo go kommot side by side to beat me into submission. Ih go hard wuna. Don't tell us to go and read April 19 2009 (Na Bible?) to discover who the culprit is. Why are they afraid to name names? Wuna dey fear public lynching, abi?
Now let me go and rest as per the instructions of my Bangladeshi Physician.

Greg,

"...did the British government not give Mugabe money to buy out the white farmers and Mugabe simply pocketed the money and refused to use it for its intended purpose... He did not buy out the white but he drove them from their land, and gave it to his close ZANU politicians to farm... "  [dixit:Greg Takor]

Please Greg, funding to repurchase lands from white Rhodesians or Zimbos came largely from the US not Britain.  Secondly, Mugabe never pocketed the money as you claim.  This is one African leader who does not have much in terms of wealth compared to other African strong men.  I am unaware of his overseas holdings.  If there were any, it would have been made public in the western media.

The third point you should note is that the little money he received from the US for the land reform program was not enough to purchase the large estates that the whites had.  Obviously, he started by settling his warriors and supporters of his land reform program.  I don't see anything wrong with that.  After all, they did the heavy lifting during the bush war and should be paid first.  Whether they are cronies or not, it is immaterial to me because these Africans had been robbed of their lands in the 1800 by white settlers.

Also remember that Lancaster House Agreement made it very difficult for Mugabe to purchase lands with the money he received because purchases of white owned lands were based on a willing seller, willing buying principle.  If the buy came up with the money to purchase a track of land, the seller, based on the agreement didn't have to sell the land if he didn't want to; hence the white farmers held unto the lands and Mugabe was check mated.  When the land reforms weren't going on well by the year 2000, he forcefully took the lands from the white farmers without compensation.

When you say, "He did not buy out the white but he drove them from their land," I find your statement very troubling.  Why do you refer to the holdings as their land?  Do you have any records to show that whites initially paid for the lands they owned.  I thought you said you have a good understanding of the history of Zimbabwe?  Doesn't the history reveal to you that the African was herded off their ancestral lands and resettled in very unproductive lands?  Why should Mugabe, in the first place, buy back lands that were never sold to the white settlers.

If an Egyptian came and claimed 84% of the arable land in Manyu and then turned around and said, the only way the Manyu People can get back a piece of their land is to buy it back.  Would you go along with that plan, considering the land was never purchased in the first place?

If the answer to the above question is "no," then my question to you is:  Why do you, as an African, expect the people of Zimbabwe to buy back their lands.  The African in the year 2000 got back the lands by force from the whites, just as the white settlers initial got the land from the African in the 1800 by force from the African.  Do you have a problem with that?

"...He read Marx whilst in colonial prison and professed to be a Marxist and set out to, shall I say, experiment with Marxism with regards to the policies he initiated. Even as the Zimbabwean economy was contracting as a result of his Marxist experiment, he saw no reason to reverse course, other than to blame the "imperialists" for his disastrous policies..." [dixit:Greg Takor]

Greg, you are misleading the public here.  True, he studied Maxism while in prison.  Who were his teachers?  Where they not White Rhodesians?  Why would they teach a course on Marxism to an African rebel if they did not intend for him to implement it at some future date?  Secondly, almost all African freedom fighters received support from communist countries and none of them put this in practice, not even Mugabe.  Since you claim Zimbabwe's economy contracted as a result of Marxist policies he put in place, can you please elaborate on those policies.

Before you waffle on that, let me make it very clear to the readership that Zimbabwe's economy collapsed as a result of economic sanctions and not some experiment on Marxist policies?  However, Mr. Takor, you are free to challenge my position.

There is a parliamentary democratic process in Zimbabwe.  It is far more robust than any, if at all there is, in West Africa or West Central Africa.  The parliamentary democracy they have calls for free and fair elections.  Morgan Tsvangirai has tried three times to unseat Mugabe and failed at the ballots.  Mugabe won the last election free and clear.  Why do you have a problem with that?  In a parliamentary democracy, the party that wins elects its leader.  There is no term limit in this form of democracy.

Why most he give up power if his party, which is made up of mostly Shona, who by the way constitute the greater majority of people in that country, continue to vote him into power.

Concerning his governance, I submit to you that he is better than any West or West Central African leader.  There is law and order in that country.  Corruption is minimal compared to countries in West and West Central Africa.  Just yesterday, Mugabe said he did not want to see goats and sheep in down town Harare as he once saw in West Africa.  What does that tell you about his plans for a modern Zimbabwe?

SAF,

I don't dispute anything you say about the colonial history of former Rhodesia, now called Zimbabwe, because it is historically accurate, and I have also dealt with that subject in one of my papers on Cecil Rhodes, the British merchant after whom Rhodesia was named, and who left a fortune amassed from mining for the establishment of Rhodes scholarships. Those scholarships, American students being the most beneficiaries, are warded annually to qualified students to study at Oxford. And, referring to the land transaction matter, did the British government not give Mugabe money to buy out the white farmers and Mugabe simply pocketed the money and refused to use it for its intended purpose? Correct me on this if I am wrong, but I believe I am right. Is what Mugabe did morally justifiable? He did not buy out the white but he drove them from their land, and gave it to his close ZANU politicians to farm. How did they perform? The answer is a foregone
conclusion. But that as it may, after the Lancaster House accords, Rhodesia eventually became an independent sovereign nation under its original name of Zimbabwe and under Mugabe's leadership. My question, which is central to this discussion is, what has happened to Zimbabwe since independence under President Mugabe's leadership. He read Marx whilst in colonial prison and professed to be a Marxist and set out to, shall I say, experiment with Marxism with regards to the policies he initiated. Even as the Zimbabwean economy was contracting as a result of his Marxist experiment, he saw no reason to reverse course, other than to blame the "imperialists" for his disastrous policies. I attended the Korbel Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver with a Zimbabwean who fought in that Bush war/war of liberation, and had nothing positive to say about Mugabe about his governance. He laid the blame of the collapse of Zimbabwe's economy
squarely on the aging dictator. This is someone who is just as patriotic as Mugabe, but disagrees with him over the direction he has taken the country they both fought to liberate from Ian Smith's racist minority rule.
I like Mugabe as a freedom fighter, but I have troubling questions about his governance which has left millions of Zibabweans in untenable economic circumstances. To me, no amount of imperialist bashing and blame game will excuse Mugabe from the severe damage has wreaked on Zimbabwe's economy.

Greg,

The bush war in Southern
Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) was all about land.  In order to
understand the
problem in Zimbabwe, you have to read and understand how the
country was created.
Mugabe wanted nothing but complete economic and political
independence for
Zimbabwe.  Being president was not the reason he went to
war.  Land
reform was his primary objective.

Let me bring the issue
to you closer to home with the following analogy.  As a
Manyu person, how
would you like if 84% of the arable land in Manyu was
reserved for white
settlers and your people were driven off their most
productive lands and
resettled in areas where there was hardly rainfall.
If you can understand how painful that is,
then you will understand the injustice that was meted on the
African in
pre-colonial Zinbabwe.

The Brits used every
trick under their sleeves to protect their own in white
Rhodesia.
During the Lancaster House discussions, they
even suggested that the African should buy back the lands
from the white
settlers.
Remember, the African had been
 forcefully
herded off the most productive
lands and resettled in the most uninhabitable lands in the
colony.

Mugabe rejected the idea
of the African buying back the land instantly.
Britain finally agreed to work on a land reform
program.
Rhodesian white settlers were angry.
They said the Crown had promised them the
land in perpetuity.
Britain then told
them that the land would be transferred on a willing buyer,
willing seller
principle which meant they didn't have to sell the land
if they didn't want
to.

Lancaster almost failed
and Mugabe was forced to hold off any land reforms until
after 10 years of
independence.
The Brits were hoping that
Mugabe would be gone within that period.
20 years after the Lancaster House Agreement, Mugabe
saw no progress on
the land reforms that had been promised in Lancaster.
He thus forcefully began taking back the
lands from the white settlers.

Assume you were a
Zimbabwean, wouldn't you be happy to finally get back
the lands that were stolen
from your ancestors?
Tell me, what would
you do if it came time to vote.
Would
you cast your vote for the person who returned your
ancestral land to you or to
the opposition leader (Morgan Tsvangirai) whose campaign was
funded by white commercial
farmers to roll back the clock?

Burundi President Pierre Nkuruziza's

violation of Burundi's constitution to run for a

third

term has already triggered violence, albeit sporadic.

But

the spectre of a full fledged civil conflict is not far

off.

Situations like these are what make banana republics

what

they are. A despot violates the rule of law, especially

the

constitution, supposedly the supreme law of the country

with

impunity. Subsuming the general will to personal

interests

is the norm in banana republics. To those who love to

hate

Nigeria, I have to remind them that she is a political

and

economic beacon of hope for Africa. People should be

reminded that former President Olusegun Obasanjo of

Nigeria

tried to have the Nigerian Constitution amended to
allow

him

run for a third term, but was soundly rebuffed by

Nigerians

and his own political party. If it were in Cameroun and

elsewhere, Obasanjo would have easily had his wish.
That

is

a significant difference between an amerging

democracy and a banana republic. Unless and

else

will ever matter, because everything else revolves

around

politics - stability, economic, cultural and social

development, as well as the emergence of a viable

private

sector and robust civil society.

Burundi's former

Nkurunziza was killed Sunday in a drive-by shooting

in the capital, Bujumbura, a presidential

spokesman

said.Gen. Adolphe Nshimirimana

was killed when men in a

car shot at him

and his bodyguards while traveling in the

Kamenge neighborhood, Willy Nyamitwe told The
Associated

Press Sunday. The attackers also lobbed a

grenade into

Nshimirimana's vehicle,

and the general was evacuated

before he

later died from his wounds, he

said.The

killing is likely to stoke tensions in Burundi,

which has been wracked by violence since April

when it was

revealed that Nkurunziza would

seek a third term in office.

Nkurunziza's bid sparked regular street protests in

Bujumbura that became violent as the security

forces tried

to break up the

demonstrations.Nshimirimana was widely seen as a key

member

of the

president's security team who

helped to put down an

attempted coup in

May.Nkurunziza won the July 21 presidential polls with

69 percent of the vote while his closest

rival, Agathon

Rwasa, got 19 percent.The

international community condemned the elections

as not being credible because of violence,

intimidation,

media restrictions and

questions over the legitimacy of a

third

term for Nkurunziza. Many fear that Nkurunziza's

determination to

stay in power can trigger

widespread violence in the poor

African country of 10 million that has a history of

civil strife.Earlier this month the Burundi

government said the

army had put down a
