Java developer

General Job Duties:
Candidate is a web application developer experienced in building user interfaces to rich Internet applications based on AngularJS JavaScript framework. Candidates in this position work as part of a project team to develop and deliver commercial web-based software products for external client use. Candidate will possess a professional working knowledge of the following technologies: J2EE, Java Frameworks, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, REST Services, Web Services and backend database technologies. Candidate has knowledge across a spectrum of programming languages and techniques and applies both existing and new technologies in developing solutions.
Specific Job Duties:
- Work with project team and internal customers to establish and understand requirements.
- Responsible for front-end development of cutting edge web-based applications with emphasis on customer ease of use, performance, and scalability.
- Participate in the software development process as defined by the Agile Scrum process. This includes participating in the requirements gathering process. Experience with Rally Software is a plus.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Professional experience in browser based front-end development using Object-Oriented JavaScript and MVVM Patterns utilizing various libraries such as AngularJS and jQuery. Experience with Knockout, Backbone and/or Mustache is a plus.
- Professional experience with Java Frameworks such as Spring or Struts.
- Experience with GWT and GXT is a plus.
- Professional experience working with and creating REST APIs. SOAP experience a plus.
- Experience with JBoss J2EE Container, Eclipse IDE, ant or maven build scripts, and TFS source control.
- Demonstrated ability to create a software design and develop software based on an agreed upon architecture and business outcomes.
- Experience with cross-browser optimization (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari).
- Experience with Unix/Linux is a plus
- Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years experience developing web-based software applications
