Prof. Sudha's observations and experience is a ground reality, found in majority schools and even in colleges. We now appear to be paper masters, once something is scribbled on paper, we take for granted all is done without regards to its implementation. This attitude needs to be changed totally and we must be outcome based.


For accreditation world over Objective Based Outcomes approach is rigorously used. How many of our administrators, faculties and teachers really have insight into it. We have introduced credit system. One of predominant assumption is continuous and comprehensive assessment. Is it really followed? There is another equally important principle continuous  improvement. Improvement in what when nothing is executed, no lab work, no teaching?


I admit there may be a few rare exceptions, but they are really rare, unable to lead the others.

Schools which take a huge amount as  fee for both,   term and captiation, do not have any guidelines to follow or they need not follow the guildelines.

Fee in lakhs for a term, schools do not have a library, the science practical session which was a curioisity for us earlier to get into the lab , the students never even enter into the labs but for the exams... where is the application or practical learning happening...

Having inquired it is understood that the school has only one lab with a very big campus, and only  on the point of taking up the board exam they are asked to focus on one particular lab experiment which only they got to perform.. where is the curiosity to learn more practical science sessions and also picking chits for the exam..

In the 3 storeyed school building , I floor stands for CBSE and II floor matriculation board where is the guidelines to set up school board..

Medium of instruction is a question unanswered  even among the teaching fraternity...then wherein among the students and teacher & student...

This casual attitude of schools and its commercial outlook  definitely do not guide the  student community positively and such students enter into colleges for graduation and afterwhich employment..


Discipline ? Values ? education and education system ? communication skills ? attitude ? where does all begin...
