We need to pay our attention to the other side of the coin too. There are some institutes who are squeezed by PhDs. I know a few institutes that follow for the reasons unknown to me:
- If you have submitted your PhD thesis the consolidated salary is in the range Rs 80000- 1 lakh pm.
- On your defense, salary rises to Rs 125000 or so pm.
- All professors are put in the range Rs 1.4-2 lakhs pm giving them special allowances in the range Rs 25000 to 40000 pm.
- Some Assistant Professors are placed in the consolidated salary of Rs 60000 to 78000 pm.
- Above appointments are done by the Managements without regard to the university approval. Many of the APs selected after 2007 through University Selection Committees (6th CPC was declared after 2007) but not possessing PhDs are placed in the Associate Professor Pay Band Rs 37400-67000 + AGP drawing salary in the range Rs 80000-100000 pm inclusive of all allowances plus in some cases special allowances.
- Are we not exploiting demand-supply equation, like labor market by highly qualified personnel?
- One more point, as good as 30-40% spouse of faculties are employed in academic institutes or in other sectors.

Everyone is a Teacher no doubt. Our parents are our Greatest Teachers! But since there is a system of education, and there is a student - teacher environment in all nations/societies there is a need to follow this system. Our Indian Culture still holds good the 'Guru and Shishya' tradition and this is the reason why many-many Indians are sitting in NASA and other places. Teachers will always be respected.....I respect my school & College teachers and if it was not for them I would not have been a teacher today. Not all teachers run after money and tuitions.....there are the exceptions, but that does not and cannot hold back the respect for a teacher!!! No matter what the circumstances a teacher should always be respected. Teaching full time, day in and day out, grooming children to become good citizens and do well in their lives year after year for 30yrs, 40yrs is hard work. A teacher is under pressure every single day because she/he feels it is their responsibility to groom students, and even if one student fails a teacher feels guilty about it through out his/her life.
TO CONCLUDE - TEACHER WILL ALWAYS BE RESPECTED, NO ONE CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF A TEACHER.

A mentor who can very well identify and understand the learning needs and outcomes of their candidates can be a good teacher. The ability to teach any crowd comes with the primarily with interest and then the capability, efficiency etc.
I could still remember my school / college teachers and the content they taught me, because their approach has changed the way i had to learn. One being in an academics environment cannot afford to make derogatory remarks about another with whom they have not worked or is completely unaware of others contribution to various segments.
I consider this act a serious crime even if it sounded harsh.
