AIX-Linux Administrator

6 month contract

Wilmington, Ohio

$40.42/hr C2C all-inclusive

 

Position Summary

The IMT AIX/Linux Administrator must be a strong technologist and possess experience in file system management on Linux and AIX systems including logical volume manager setup. This role's focus will be to support printer maintenance for Linux and AIX systems, Storage configuration for XIV storage arrays and Brocade directors, provide support/configuration/troubleshooting

for Linux/AIX/HACMP, and support for TSM Tivoli backup software.

Tasks and Responsibilities

 Linux and AIX system maintenance and troubleshooting

 SAN and Storage device administration, monitoring and

troubleshooting.

 Provide support for all Unix related processes including FTP, telnet

and Basis processes and scripts.

 Backup Management

 Linux/AIX support of servers running Tibco and Oracle database and

applications.

 Monitors and reports on system performance and storage usage.

Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications

 5 years AIX/Linux  Support

 Linux and AIX knowledge required.

 Oracle database and/or Oracle applications knowledge a plus

 Some enterprise-level backup software experience helpful.

 Storage, SAN and/or VMware experience helpful.

 Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 

 Experience, Education and Formal Training

 BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems

Engineering or equivalent job experience.

 A minimum of 5+ years experience in a technical support role.

 VMware training a plus

 

New System is running on AIX 7.1, old legacy system is on 5.3, Red Hat

servers are virtual
