If any process/mechanism  is founded on integrity, trust, honesty of purpose, self-less service to others, etc., the outcome is  always positive, promoting well-fare and well-being of one and all.

Vietnam is after a new tool and if accepted by others in future, success depends on the mind set up of the people who handle it. It is the mind that fights and not the gun!

Dear all,
Good afternoon.
Ton Duc Thang University, or TDTU, a self-financed public institution
in Vietnam, announced in mid-September that it will create its own
requirements and procedures for promoting professors. This has caused
an intense and ongoing debate in the national media and on social
networks.
In my view this is a correct move and a need of the time for several reasons.
If they are governed by UGC/A.I.C.T.E then they must also be facing
problems like us.
We have to follow the norms laid down by the above bodies and due to
various vested interests these norms are interpreted in a different
ways.
Today there are many management institutes which have not appointed
the faculties as per the norms saying that they do not get qualified
faculties and on the other hand there are many faculties who have not
been approved as a Professor despite their perfect qualification and
experience.
Hence above mentioned University might have taken such bold decision
and deserves big congratulations.
Gradually our higher education is moving towards self financing hence
such innovative ( Compelled) practices will be observed more in near
future.
