RE: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] What to do when your boss asks you to do something illegal ?

Dear sir ,

To add on Indian Management context to this issue I think it should be examined also in the perspective where one is serving Government , Semi government or Private sector as the boss's influence and ways to inflict ordeal for non followers differ in different cases . In my service years to HAL , Bangalore – I found that terms like illegal & unethical have been removed from absolute meaning and put in " situational demands " so as to fulfil the needs of hierarchical order . Nevertheless it is really a very demanding state when Boss asks you to do wrong and what  worse when he says pushes a silent warning of playing with career if the demands are not met.

Subject: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] What to do when your boss asks you to do something illegal ?

When your boss asks you to do something illegal or unethical, you face one of the most challenging dilemmas in your career. "There are potential negative consequences for speaking up, as well as for complying,". "It can feel like a lose-lose."

How to handle such situations?
