I agree with the concept of having index such as teaching quality index. However, as India is adopting Outcome based education through NBA accreditation parameters with signing the Washington accord. Therefore, we must have such index but with broader quality senses as Academic Quality Index (AQI) based on learning outcomes which can be quantify with attainment of defined attributes of a particular programme. For examples, NBA has defined 12 engineering attributes as by ABET. I have designed the learning outcome assessment tools and well appreciated at WOSA 2014. We have brain storming workshop
