Sr. Enterprise Monitoring Engineer – Long term Contract – Dallas, TX

 

We are seeking a Sr. Enterprise Monitoring Engineer for their Dallas, TX location.

 

As part of an enterprise monitoring team, this individual will take direction from Team Management and Project Manager(s) working on several Event Management and Integration Projects scheduled for this year as well as supporting Operational Requests across the Monitoring Enterprise.  Candidate should expect to be a part of engineering decision-making and execution but also asked frequently to perform repetitive administrative tasks in the areas we're asking for skills in.  The person filling this role must be able to build relationships with other teams and gain support from our customer base to be successful.  Must be able to execute- this is not a consulting role!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 5 years+ experience working with Enterprise Monitoring Tools – SCOM and/or Solarwinds strongly desired
  
• 3 years' experience with APM toolsets – Dynatrace and Dyntrace Synthetic strongly desired
  
• 3 years' experience with integration of Event Management into ITSM toolsets – ServiceNow Preferred
  
• 3-5 years' experience monitoring with SNMP
  
• Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL with specific experience in the areas of Event Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management
  
• Basic Network communication troubleshooting skills
  
• Working experience with Windows, Linux, and Solaris OS versions (Do not need to have deep admin skills but should be knowledgeable in basic fundamental commands)
  
• Mid-level Scripting skills with Powershell, Unix Shell desired; understanding of regular expression syntax
  
• Experience working alone and with a team in delivering project deliverables on tight deadlines with basic understanding of project management and methodologies
  
• Prefer individual with both operational and engineering experience who can operate in both spaces.
  
• Consensus building skills – Able to write/verbalize an argument on behalf or against something and build consensus and cooperation around the idea/argument
