Re: [MTC Global] Why Entrepreneurship Education Does Not Work?

Entrepreneurship is mostly taught by Academic people and not Entrepreneurs. limiting  it just a Theory to be learned and passed in exams.

I sometimes wonder how effective  can a teacher be who hasn't done any Business Inspire the students to BE Entrepreneurs.

I liked the method followed in US
www.ja.org is the organization committed to teach Entrepreneurship and have created the modules from standard 5th onwards.
The Teacher is just the coordinator and Entrepreneurs queue up to Teach in those schools.

I too was part of Incubation center at SINE IIT Bombay where we launched our first business in 2005. Though all things were provided by IIT i.e. infrastructure, systems, money, mentoring still numerous challenges remained.

I have observed that few Academic and Research Oriented professors have that ability and they make huge money via Consulting. Personally seen, met some of them at IIT and IIMs

Let this August body of Experts create a Comprehensive plan for its execution.
Else
If you know of any successful model that working Globally please share it.

Entrepreneurship is the most commonly used word today. We see a renewed interest and thrust on the subject. Most of the  B-schools have it in the syllabus. Colleges do have ED Cell /Incubator and also there are B-Plan competition and other activities. But hardly any conversion?

Request esteemed MTCians' views on 'How the subject should be taught and the approach to really inject the entrepreneurism spirit?"
