This is a unique role in the IT industry in that the team supports SAP HANA appliances end to end, covering hardware knowledge, Linux admin, HANA DBA, consulting, projects (upgrade, migrate, patch, HA, DR, etc.), and day to day systems management. This team also developed its own monitoring tools along with a full cloud infrastructure for support, providing the team with opportunities to help develop the team's tools as well, if interested.
Specific Position Responsibilities include:
1. Act as Delivery Lead for customers, meaning that the role is to act as the lead consultant/advisor to the customer on the SAP HANA administration services being delivered, plan work with the customer and perform the hands on system administration as well. The Delivery Lead owns the systems he supports and ensures the administration and monitoring of those systems is being done properly by the other team members.
2. Act as a Level 3 hands-on Linux and HANA administrator. Skills needed include: some hardware administration experience (ILO on nodes, basic SAN knowledge, basic network knowledge, etc); Linux administration, HANA DBA skills. Skills in order of preference are: Linux SA, hardware and infrastructure knowledge, followed by some DBA exposure (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc) with HANA preferred. We don't expect new people in the team to have all these skills,
