Sr. Java Developer - Front End Developer

Duration: 12+ Months contract

Location: Charlotte, NC
Industry: Financial

MUST HAVE:

·         Extensive experience in technologies: JSP, JavaScript, JSTL, JQuery, Ajax, HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS and ORM with JPA

·         Strong, in depth knowledge and experience in J2EE, EJB, JMS and MVC Architecture

·         Extensive experience working with SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL, WSDL, XPath, XSLT, XML and XML Schemas

·         Build Tool Experience (Maven/ Jenkins)

•    Develops and directs the delivery of software programs including design, build and test in various software technologies, application programs in accordance with a specified business need and in a way that achieves the development goals for assigned projects.
•    Interpret written business requirements, functional requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop technical solutions that meet business needs
•    Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions
•    Perform system design and specification development, program logic and flow-charting that meets the stated project objectives
•    Provide status and progress updates to Project Manager
•    Identify and communicate technical risks, issues, and changes
•    Perform coding to written technical specifications
•    Contribute to design review meetings with other members of Application Development
•    Perform complex defect verification, debugging, testing and support
•    Investigate, analyze and document reported defects
•    Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates that meet SDLC standards
•    Continuously cultivates knowledge of emerging technologies.
•    Provides mentoring and training to junior staff.
•    Serves as initial point of escalation for all processing and operational issues.

•    A minimum of 8 years' experience developing Object Oriented applications in a full SDLC environment for a financial services firm (i.e., institutional/retail brokerage, bank, or asset management) with a minimum of 7 years having developed applications with J2EE and Web technologies.
•    Extensive experience in technologies: JSP, JSTL, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, JSF, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, EJB, ORM with JPA, JMS, IBM MQ and WebLogic
•    Strong, in depth knowledge and experience in MVC Architecture
•    Extensive experience working with XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL and WSDL
•    Build Tool Experience (Maven/ Jenkins)
•    Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience working in Agile-Scrum development methodology
•    Knowledge in using a multitude of J2EE design patterns
•    Experience with Oracle database and Unix is a BIG plus
•    Experience with Data Warehousing / ETL concepts is a BIG plus
•    Excellent problem solving abilities
•    Master's Degree in computer science or related discipline
