Job Description & Experience Requirements
• 6-8 years of software development experience with object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages such as Java, J2EE, Big Data Components/ Frameworks (Hadoop, HBase, MapReduce, HDFS, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, Ozie, Avro etc), web-development frameworks and other AJAX tools/ Frameworks
• Experience with web services , open API development, and SOA concepts
• Demonstrated experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods
• Experience with implementing integrated automated release management
• Demonstrated leadership in designing sustainable software products, setting development standards, automated code review process, continuous build and rigorous testing
• Strong communication ability and business acumen necessary to influence and explain the application of technological concepts to business and technology personnel alike
• Ability to identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies
• tools/technologies/frameworks like Maven, Subversion, code/security review tools is preferred
• Advanced experience with parallel & distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, message queuing, and relational databases is preferred
• Experience with automated testing preferred
• Familiarity with information retrieval techniques is preferred
• Experience with Business Intelligence/Reporting products like Tableau, MicroStrategy, Kibana is preferred Experience with SOLR, Lucene, ElasticSearch, PMML, Talend Big Data Studio, Memcached, MongoDB, or Graph databases is desirable
• BS degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent work experience
Responsibilities & Description of work to be performed
• Serve as a core member of an engineering team that designs and develops software applications.
• Write code and unit tests, automation, and conducting code reviews and testing.
• Assist the architects and team leads in designing and documenting complex systems.
• Identify exciting opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges.
• Perform ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement.
• Working with product managers to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and managing a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues.
• Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Work closely with product managers, back-end and other front-end engineers to implement versatile solutions to complex problems.
