I suggest besides Financial audit, the formats on Social Audit also need to be developed and reported viz

Number of Students per section
Student Teachers Ratio
Alumni Tracking....
etc

Sir, Many Institutions are ISO9001 certified and QMS audit does take place. This ought to
be adequate for an Institution to improve their performance year after year.

Institutions have audit process for accounts administration. They don't have audit for
performance of the institutions as such and their teaching faculty members.
Every institution takes stock of number of seats filled every year and fee remittance.
Very little concern on quality of teaching, faculty development and students'
understanding of the subjects. There is a dire need for individual performance appraisal
and audit. Every act is measurable. There must be accontability in everything.
