Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Discussion-I ] How are we equipping our students for the future?

Dear Prof. Vijendra Kumar ji,
Well said sir; we indeed need to groom commando styled Business Engineers for Digital Era..

Business Engineering (BE) refers to the development and implementation of business solutions, from business model to business processes and organizational structure to information systems and information technology (cf.[1]).

Business engineering focuses on developing innovative business solutions that take a sociotechnical systems (STS) approach. The STS approach addresses an enterprise as a total system in the same manner as an airplane system or an industrial facility, since they possess a similar level of complexity.

Business engineering combines knowledge in the fields of business administration, Industrial Engineering, as well as information technology and connects it to all aspects of transformation, from means of presentation to process models to cultural and political considerations.

Dear All,
The future will some what looks like this:
There will be more machine work than men.
Robots will pitch in.
More hackers than programmers will rule.
Dealing with terrorism and drug mafia than with neighborhood countries.
Due to advancement in technology, formal education has to transform itself  for the mankind. So we need to focus on the impact of these things on our culture and the society. The consequences of mankind 'distancing from nature as a species'.  We need to understand the impact of all these changes at societal and species level. Is distancing good or bad? Do we need to stick to social values, which made our species more stronger than others? or Are there any other new values, we need to adopt?(due to value stagnant).
How do we make supertemps more stronger emotionally? or is it necessary?(will they have the inbuilt mechanism to deal with others?)
Probably we need to do research on this and debated to come to a conclusion. Probably focusing more on critical thinking (information/knowledge discrimination), minding nature,  values, emotional intelligence, compassion would get the priority.

Our education system equips our students for (i.e., outcomes):
  1. Not self-actualized but externally motivated.
  2. Growth mind set through easy ways.
  3. Instinct to success but by short cuts.
On reading "The future employee must learn intrinsic motivation and develop a growth mindset and instinct to be successful." I am tempted to think if our caste system was based initially on these considerations that later on was turned into ....... a Curse!
Macaulay has reported in the early 18th Century that financial independence, thick unity of society segments and their cooperation were the result of societal structure, especially those of such craftsman including carpenter, Mahar, Mang, Dhor, smiths, Brahman, warrior, etc., equal partners for societal good.

It is expected that by 2020
, many
people will be independent workers, freelancers, contractors and temporary employees. Increasingly these positions are being held by the best and the brightest. Harvard Business Review called this phenomenon "the Rise of the Supertemp." The future employee must learn intrinsic motivation and develop a growth mindset and instinct to be successful.

How are we equipping our students for this future?
