Job Title: Spotfire Developer 

Work Location: Houston, TX 

Duration: 6-Month Contract 

JOB FUNCTION: 

The Spotfire Developer will work on producing and maintaining various external facing visualization dashboards/tools using advanced features in Spotfire such as Iron Python, JavaScript, and TERR engine 

Visualizations will be deployed via Spotfire Web Player, which will integrate into a larger web framework 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Collaborative working practices and ability to communicate technical requirements across multiple teams (Application Developers, Database Developers, and Operational Stakeholders) 

Ability to design & build complex and interactive visualizations within Spotfire using custom expressions, IronPython, JavaScript, and Ruby 

An expert in dealing with data sets of varying data complexity and volumes with speed and efficiency 

The ability to work closely with stakeholders to guide, design, and deliver high quality applications, enhancements, and support services 

Adhere to and pay special attention to coding standards, best practices, frameworks, and maintainability while freely knowledge sharing with colleagues where improvements can be made 

Create technical documents to clearly convey design patterns, concepts, and integration points between participating sub-systems 

Self-starter, comfortable working independently, methodically, and to aggressive timescales within a global environment 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can translate complex technical concepts into non-technical language that can be understood by business users and leadership teams 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

A formal and structured education in software development, design and implementation is essential for this role 

Experience with TIBCO Spotfire 6.x and above 

Experience with using TERR in Spotfire 

Knowledge of R and Python 

Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript is plus
