Position: Open Stack Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 6-12 Months + extendable

 

Description: 

• Must have 5+ years of industry experience in a network operations/support role with increasing responsibilities

• Candidates for this position will generally hold a BS or MS in computer science or a related field

• Candidates must possess excellent team and people skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams

• Install, operate and troubleshoot advanced clouds using OpenStack

•  Strong hands on experience with scripting languages Python and Bash.

• In depth understanding of Linux/Unix command line

• Experience with multiple distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.), networking (bonding, bridging, iptables, vlans, OVS, etc), virtualization (KVM, libvirt, etc)

• Install, operate and troubleshoot hardware systems in data centers to support private clouds

• Provide expert OpenStack advice and support

• Automate installation, operation and corrective actions using Python, Bash

• Write and maintain scripts to support operations, development and testing of advanced software

• Good understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, CIDR) is required
