Job Description: Enterprise Monitoring Analyst (Network)
The consultant/position will maintain the network monitoring and automation toolset (CA-Spectrum, eHealth, Nagios, Airwave, Attention, xMatters, BMC ProactiveNet and Jira) relied upon extensively by Technology Services. Working within the Enterprise Management group, maintain, customize, support and troubleshoot enterprise management, monitoring and automation systems. Maintain python scripts and small programs; integrate tools, participate in system testing and needs assessment as part of a development team. Maintain the software that monitors the performance, speed, configuration and security of the network, optimizing the utilization of the network and computing resources, detecting bottlenecks and DoS attacks, and monitoring critical network and system components such as routers, switches, servers, and storage.
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of related technical experience in a Linux environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with IT Infrastructure Monitoring tools for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics and/or Application, Infrastructure Availability and Performance Management.
-Detailed understanding of IP networking technologies (including SNMP v3 debugging and routing protocols); understanding of 802.11 WLAN technologies preferred; experience with network management applications and MIBs; familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Brocade command lines desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and to learn technical skills independently.
