Job Description 

 

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer with experience and expertise in building Database platforms using MySQL/MariaDB and running on Linux.

 

Required Skills:

•           Expert knowledge in MySQL (7+ years) – Must

•           Unix Systems Programming (RHEL or CentOS preferred)

•           Experience with scripting languages (Perl required, 3+ years) - Must

•           Experience with C/C++ (5+ years)- not must

•           Strong verbal and written communication skills

•           Understanding of scalable, fault-tolerant, high-availability systems

 

Desired Skills

•           Familiarity with the Open Source community and using Open Source software

•           Understanding of basic monitoring systems

•           Comfort with Continuous Integration practices

•           Technical degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field preferred

 

You'll be involved in:

•           Working with Core technologies that are used as the platform for the whole of Service Engineering to build on

•           Evaluating various database solutions for future platforms being developed

•           Consulting engineers that need help ensuring their database usage is intelligent, efficient, and consistent

•           Maintaining our existing legacy Database platform and evaluating migration paths and plans to continue to drive our Database platform forward
