Title: SQL Developer (USC OR GC)

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: 6 Months

Interview: phone & F2F

 

Summary:

This position monitors and controls the development and processing of programs to ensure the highest levels of service and system availability are attained. Establishes production runs, updates run documentation and maintains data files. Assists with more complex code creation, job set up, performs problem identification, escalation and resolution. Communicates status of operations to allow for immediate response to service disruptions.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities:

·         Maintain and support application (X% development, X% support)

·         Demonstrate an understanding of business and technical requirements for each assigned project

·         Demonstrate an understanding of system performance expectations for application being developed

·         Work as part of a project team to meet or exceed customer expectations

·         Work with IS Business Analysts to create and update requirements

·         Produce code to meet standards for each assigned task

·         Create unit test plans and test summary

·         Perform unit testing

·         Follow and demonstrate an understanding of adopted processes/methodologies

·         Maintain and support applications as needed

·         Update production run specifications

·         Document steps throughout production processing

·         Participate in project meetings

·         Identify changes to tasks as they occur and notify appropriate team members

·         Respond to and work with appropriate team members to resolve all SMART/Infra requests

·         Work with team members to create accurate task estimates

·         Follow schedules to meet task deadlines

·         May lead projects of moderate complexity

·         May coach more junior technical staff

·         Maintain legacy applications

·         Provide some afterhours support

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree in CS, IS or related field or equivalent work experience

·         X years IS work experience in production support, programming and development

·         Familiarity with project-specific programming language (e.g., SQL Server,VB.NET)

·         Strong time management skills

·         Strong problem solving and analytical skills required

·         Solid communication skills

·         Exposure to databases and file structures

·         Strong oral and written communication skills

·         Solid time management skills and ability to multi-task

·         Strong troubleshooting skills

·         Ability to work independently and in team/collaborative environment
