Dear Sir, The TV journalist and comperes work in an environment very much like the
creative artists. They earn a lot and their work is entirely personality driven. If Arnab
left a stamp on his show, this show will not remain the same. The huge following of his
show will definitely melt away.
The show with a different compere will have to begin all over again; build its
constituency and perhaps taste even better success.
What is true of back end operations will not hold for the front end. There are umpteen
such examples.
Music Directors such as OP Nayyar of yore who differed with Lata Mangeshkar had to begin
anew and it was never the same again.
Best Regards,
K.Paranjpe

>Very True Sir. Nobody is indispensable in corporate world. Till the time you are
employed, you have to give your best and that is what Arnab did. He brought his own style
and dynamism which initially made the 9:00 P.M. Slot - a Prime Time in News World of
Times Now.But What Now? Times Now will fill the vacuum with someone who could perhaps do
better than Arnab taking a cue from how his prime time show became a success.Arnab on
other hand would either go to a competitor or with the fearless dynamism he has exuded in
his show in stripping people in interviews, he could very well be a prize catch of the
IPL ( read Indian Politicians League ).Arnab may also chose to go solo and start his own
Brand of News analysis & forecasts like his predecessors: Anil Dua & all.On the positive
side: the parting Or Exit of Arnab from Times Now wasn't like the Tata Sons case - going
to the wire.In comparison, another News Channel : ABP ( Ananda Bazaar Patrika ) came out
with a crime news show called: "Sansani"- nothing wrong with it but the anchor of the
show - a bearded gentleman - Shrivardhan Tiwari - initially I felt the flaw was his weak
voice. But somehow he still continues to host the show and from the trp it seems the show
is well accepted. We can never write off a person for reasons we perceive. Amitabh
Bachchan - the great Bollywood Superstar & Legend, got rejected by AIR for his nasal
voice which they felt wasn't suitable for Reporter, but he used this weakness to gain
stardom in Hindi films. It all depends on the person, how he shakes off the weakness he is
accused of in the corporate and rises to establish himself turning the weakness into
strength.Warm Regards,StephenStephen NarayananFreelance Educational Consultant/Corporate

The nation wants to know--these five words which made Arnab Goswami of Times Now such a
big success. But, question, what would happen to Times Now after his departure.........
It is the same story of Mr. Kushwant Singh , Chief Editor of 'The Weekly'. When he left
Times of India Group, the magazine was out of Market in 1993.
The management lessons:
Bottom Line: 1. Never allow any one person to become bigger than the company – because if
s/he leaves the company fates then the fate of the company hangs in balance.
2. Prudent company always make sure that every body is dispensable – this ensure that no
one person is in a position to blackmail the company.
3. A prudent company always de-risks its business by spreading its bets across
people/products to ensure that demise of a person or a brand does not bring the company
to its knees!
