COMMUNICATION: SECESSION /SPLIT is harmful to us by Fred Kemah

Dear NW/SW Citizens,

The topic of the moment  is how to manage the on going STRUGGLE in our territories. But the key issue is to identify the various road maps to come out with a positive outcome. My role in this STRUGGLE is that of a mediator and political strategist. I have no ambitions. And will NEVER serve as a frontline politician  in Cameroon. We must do whatever it takes to live in  peace. And to avoid civil war.

However, with all  honesty & sympathy ,  looking at the situation from different dimensions, the best solution for us is to aim for a GERMAN - STYLE FEDERAL SYSTEM.

From a systemic perspective,  Secession is impossible because our former colonial masters are also facing the same dilemma of secession. Example: Scotland in the UK. Texas in the US. Barcelona in Spain, Northern Italy from Italy, etc. Therefore, sympathy from this end for us to split is unlikely.

From a  like for like reasons , as a territory, we are so deprived in every respect. No functioning sea/airports. No central bank. No Tertiary Hospital.

For us to attract investment and be competitive, we will need to apply for huge loans from the IMF and World bank( We will end up with debts till thy kingdom come). This will hardly materialise without the support and guarantee from the above -mentioned countries.

On the contrary as a Federal Cameroon, the first thing to do is to create a FEDERAL RESERVE BANK. A FEDERAL TAXATION OFFICE . A FEDERAL PRISON, A FEDERAL AIR/SEAPORT.

MATHEMATICS:

Imagine our Gross Domestic Product to be 1.000.000cfa a year from our territories.  From this amount, 300.000cfa goes to the republic of Cameroon( defence budget) ,The remainder will be distributed as follows: 500.000cfa into our  federal reserve . 100. 000 cfa for infrastructural development , 100:000 cfa for schools and hospitals.

The above is  basic knowledge on how we could go about Federalism while being  friends with the other Cameroon. Also, inside the federal state, in order to assume certain positions you must be conversant with the traditional values of the natives of that town. For example, we will draft a module such that for you to be Mayor or Bishop of Buea, You must meet certain conditions. Eg born and raised in Buea and permanently resident up to the age of 18. You must be able to speak fluent  Bakweri or Lingala , given that the former originates from the Latter. Or for you to be the Mayor of Kumba , you must be able to speak Bafaw or Lingala, given that the former originates from the latter. People from Bamenda are fine in the sense that demography is in their favour. A non native will hardly govern Bamenda. In order to be the Mayor of Mamfe you must be able to speak Bayangi/Kenyang /Ejagham plus calabar efik. Because most Bayang people understands Efik

Conclusion : The rational for this break down is because, a respectable portion of ours  are hesitant to commit fully on how to go about this STRUGGLE.

The points I have highlighted above are non-exhaustive. However, given that there are numerous groups intellectualising on this STRUGGLE , I have simply taken the liberty to provide you  on how to avoid political suffocation,  harassment and occupation of areas of authority by non native indigenes if we succeed in obtaining a German -Style Federalism

There are plans for a CONCLAVE to take place early next year . We will address the above in details.

Peace be with Cameroon

Papa Fred.
