Hello Dr Vakunta,
I don't see why we waste our time debating about how language  is the main factor in the dispute. Infact language has absolutely noting to do with it. Southern Cameroonians did not win this territory fro some expansionist policies it adopted. The UN carved out the territory as well as that of East Cameroon and assigned them to colonial masters. In our case it was assigned to the British to guide it to independence. English was not spoken in the territory at the time. The territory was the Southern Cameroons before it adopted the English language. Most Southern Cameroonians today hardly understand the language in the first place. If anybody is bringing in language into the debate he is against our right as a people. Our territory defines who we are and not the language. We just happen to be using English because The British administered us. Would somebody born and bred in East Cameroon of parents whose origins is from this territory be denied citizenship because he/she does not understand and speak English? I don't think so.  We use the word Anglophone just for the sake of convenience because for now it accurately defines who we are talking about. I can understand why the debate is even tolerated. It is simply because we are not yet autonomous to define what Southern Cameroon citizenship is all about. But for now for the sake of convenience we just hold that all Southern Cameroons indigenous peoples are citizens and I am sure much is still to be done to accurately define what that means. Language has nothing to do with it. We can easily identify immigrants who for security and economic reasons have made the Southern Cameroons their refuge, even though their real ancestral homes are somewhere else. Language will have nothing to do with it. That won't be difficult to do.

In the Cameroon setup of today, on what basis  is Southern Cameroons claiming the right to autonomy, secession, independence, statehood, federation? With all arguments from the SCNC, Ambazonia, and independent interested persons, there is a general consensus that the statehood of the Southern Cameroons was violated by the Ahidjo regime and that violation continues under Mr Biya's. But what is going on now is an attempt by the citizens of the Southern Cameroons trying to reestablish that statehood. I am sure The Republic of Cameroon has its own counter claims, though it is not making any statement about that at the moment.
Like many other Southern Cameroonians, as an individual based on what I have read, or observed over the years  I have my own opinions about that .
The way I see it, as a state therefore, at one identifiable point in time that statehood was violated by the Ahidjo regime. It was not something like a weather change that crept in imperceptibly. There was an action which took place at a precise moment that abruptly and effectively violated Southern Cameroons statehood. In my opinion when the East Cameroon troops entered the Southern Cameroons territory uninvited sometime in 1961, the annexation started at that precise moment and in consequence our sovereignty was violated. If we agree on this, or if we can identify any other time that such violation took place, we can simply decide and reconstitute our government, the southern Cameroons governmentbased on how it was at that time in our history. If our argument can withstand that of the Republic of Cameroon about the violation I believe we don't even need the intervention of any third party to make our case. If we can prove without any reasonable doubt that such a violation indeed took place, it will be left now to the Republic of Cameroon to prove otherwise. If they cannot we then can only reconstitute our government and as it was from that point, and then mandate it to complete the unfinished business of negotiating the "joining" with The Republic of Cameroon. We would therefore avoid the need to select partisan personalities who might instead throw a wrench in the negotiations due to their own convictions about what the Southern Cameroons should negotiate with The Republic of Cameroon.

Dr. Ndemmanuu,

You have a FUNDAMENTAL MIS-UNDERSTANDING of what is going on.
Try to ACQUAINT yourself of the real facts void of your imaginations before you respond again.
Please.
The problem is one of STATEHOOD.  You hear.
What Ahidjo did to the Southern Cameroons and went scott free in 1972 is precisely/similar to what
IRAQ's Saddam Hussein did to KOWEIT in 1992, but was sent packing away.

Blessed Be Cameroon

Dear ALL,

This Group is the prove that we have some people working against our Fatherland with the pretending to belong to Anglophone and the other to Francophone! Once again the are no more anglophone and francophone but bassaphone, doualaphone, bétiphone, yembaphone and etc.
In twenty three mont for a next presidential election some people are bringing distraction of not to help our democracy improve ahead but to get our country back to 1960 what is no more possible.
Please be honest with your self and don't forget that our ancestors given them life to have our country free for the colonization never forget from here we are coming from! God bless Cameroon! Amen!

In my humble opinion, some religious leaders should be included. Like In the talks with the Prime Minister today In Bamenda we look forward to have our Religious leaders, after all they are key actors in the education sector.
